Mauro Picotto vs. Dave Clarke

Here we go with another legendary poll :: take your pick.

I have a strong feeling I know how this will evolve but then again I was completely wrong with the PVD vs. Tiesto prediction...

'brought to you by the tiesto vs PVD poll originators

KarateKid

i'm just gonna base this on the differences between them after seeing them in the past both live.. since comparing sets would be unfair as i have more Mauro than Clarke ones ..

the Mauro @ Guv - Canada Day 2001 just did it for me , over Clarke @ iDance 2001 ..

Posted by DigDeep on Feb-12-2003 08:26:

Dave Clarke is a lot more talented than Mauro is......theres no question.....but Mauros track selection is what does it for me, and the flow of his sets!

Posted by malek on Feb-12-2003 09:09:

pffff Clarke hands down... people voting for Mauro do so because they don't know who Clarke is, and think that Mauro is the king of techno

Posted by Crazy Serb on Feb-12-2003 12:00:

Dave Clark... no doubt about it.

Posted by jon jon on Feb-12-2003 13:43:

Whoa, pretty close so far. (for the record, these "my dj is better than your dj" shit is pretty lame, but I love it)

Posted by Durafei on Feb-12-2003 16:10:

Haven't heard Dave Clarke, but the 4 times that I've seen Picotto he has comletely blown me away. So i'm gonna vote for Picotto..

Posted by torontotrance on Feb-12-2003 16:31:

Dave Clarke plus he is bitter.

Posted by Swamper on Feb-12-2003 17:56:

Dave Clarke is for the uber-hard-core-techno-heads cuz Picotto is better known by newbies.

Flame away children!

Posted by jon jon on Feb-12-2003 18:10:

haha I'm also on the Picotto bandwagon, just a matter of taste really. DJ skills wise, I really think they are pretty fucking close.

finally someone with same opinions like me...

DEFINETELY CLARKE! no doubt about it.

now playin': dave clarke - live @ extrema the festival 210702..

Posted by Ckerr812 on Feb-12-2003 19:55:

heh..it's like asking what tastes better...broccoli or celery.

There both food, you can eat them both, but some people don't like the taste of one or the other.

Personally I like celery

It's just a persons taste, if you don't like it, then don't cry like a baby and say this sucks and that sucks...Now go eat your vegatables....there good for you.

Dave Clarke of course

Posted by Arcticboy on Feb-13-2003 00:15:

I don't know Dave Clarke, but so as he is being compared to Mauro I have to assume he too spins crappytrance. Damn the USA, since I moved here I don't get much exposure to such leading edge genres of music...

Posted by Dj-HordasH on Feb-13-2003 01:44:

14 - 13 for Clarke

nobody said that dave clarke ever spins trance.. what i know is that he only spins techno, although he can combine it with electro sometimes.. he's never spun trance, and i don't think he'll ever change his outstanding style..

Posted by Arcticboy on Feb-13-2003 02:16:

Dude, there was nothing serious in that post, LOL. But thanks so much for clarifying.

BTW, I'm pissed at Tatgirl for not including me in the TA Ban poll, so I'm gonna vote against Mauro. HaHa, this way Mauro won't be as good as Clarke, and she'll cry all day and all night. Muaahaahahaha.

Tied up

Posted by TheNeonAlien on Feb-13-2003 03:24:

Since Mauro is my top dj im voting for him. Never heard of Dave Clarke, so he has 3 years of catching up to do. No one beats mauro, for myself anyways.

Honestly buddy u are an idiot.

U only solidify that mauro can span across many genres of music and STILL suceed. To be a good dj you have to be versitile. Does it blacken mauro's name that he can spin both. Make Clarke spin trance!

Stupid Fucksake

and since when dave wasn't able to spin different genres of techno??
most of his sets are composed of tekkno and tek-elektro sometimes even pure elektro - that just proves that he's versatile...

I think ur just dumb (new to the electronic world of musaaaaaq) cuz u've never heard of dave..

Posted by Trigger on Feb-13-2003 04:14:

Have heard them both spin, though Mauro once or twice more than Clarke. Both great DJs in my opinion but Mauro's last performance at System put me over the edge. So much energy and excellent track selection. So my vote goes to Mauro although I still have a lot of respect for Dave Clarke as well.

Peace,

Trigger

Um he's not saying different genres of techno. He means different genres of electronic music period. Ie he throws some trance in there occasionally because he produces the stuff. (it is GOOD to be very good in whatever genre you spin BUT there comes a point where you have to expand, move onto other stuff) Mauro can probably do that (I'm not saying Dave Clarke can't) but I'm just stating where I think the misunderstanding is. Relax both of you!

dave does the same by playing elektro in his sets even though he only produces tekkno...

http://www.daveclarke.com/pages/topten.html < look at his tracklists... his top ten is composed of elektro, tekkno, etc..
