Dunno Insomnia at it's finest

I'm sure I'm not the only one, but I can never sleep. It's just rediculous. I want to sleep at like 11pm but instead I end up going to sleep at 5am. It's even more of a pain in the ass because I get soo little sleep sometimes that I have chronic headaches. Right now my head hurts soooo bad that my eyes are watering. I've already taken two advil and they're not doing anything. Aside from developing an addiction to sleeping pills, does anyone have any suggestions on what to do about this?

I have similar problems. Check out these resources, they might be helpful if you have the same problem I have (which is that its easy to sleep, just only during the day):

As for your headaches, I might be able to help if you gave some more information. Is it a constant pain, or does it come and go? What part of the head seems to be the center of the pain (if any)? How long have you been having them? Do you have them during the day too, or just at night? Have you tried other medicines, such as Acetaminophen or Codeine?

I used to be like that. If I didn't sleep at night I could sleep during the day. But now, if I sleep during the day it's only for a couple hours, if that.

As for my headaches....most of the time it's an in and out kind of pain. I can't really pinpoint where the pain is but it hurts like crazy sometimes. I've been having these headaches for several months now, and they occur pretty much whenever I'm tired and can't sleep. I haven't tried any kind of medicines for it. Do you think that would make a difference?

Dood i got insomnia b4... its because you are bored and shit... try doing diff things other than be on the pc all the time... try do sum light exercise and change your routines...

Try warm milk or tea.. that soothes the body.

Working out doesn't do anything for me really. It increases my desire to sleep but it doesn't help me to actually go to sleep.

Today is just horrible because I couldn't get to sleep untill 630am and I had to get up at 9am. I'm soooo tired, but already I'm wide awake. This is sooooooo not cool.

Standard advice that most people / doctors will give, excercise early in the morning, rather than at night, avoid starchy foods at night, or eat them early, don't do mentally stimulating things (crosswords, forum posting...) before going to sleep. If you're pilling, try 5-htp, I've heard it does wonders, see your doctor if it's really a problem.

(advice from a person who was asleep for 20 hours in 123 hours sometime last week, so take it with a grain of salt... )

Try 5-HTP, it worked for me though my problem wasn't nearly as bad as yours. I've come to the point where I don't get to sleep until very late if I don't take a 5-HTP.

If you dont all ready, try taking up reading. I can never fall asleep until I hav read something! It helps me relax alot and puts me in the mood to fall asleep. I hope this helps and if not I hope u sort it out ASAP

this is so true.. like after clubbing i come home and its been well over 24 hours since i got some sleep, and before i go collapse and die i check my mail or something, and its like pc does something to me and its hours till i can get some sleep after that.. bleh

It seriously puts me in a crazy state of trance that just makes me sleep.
