Comments:
A laid back trance mix. Mixing is mostly ok (give me a break, ive only been mixing for 1 month 2 weeks). Recorded from turntables.
58:46
192Kbps (some issues with volumes but, quality is alright)
84 meg
The link is
ftp://tranceaddict:[email protected]:55555/
There is only my mix on this site. If it doesnt work in IE, then use a proper ftp browser.
I hope this goes well, and if there is some interest then I will continue putting up mixes from other tranceaddicts each month. By the way. Bandwidth isnt free, if everyone from TA tries to download the mix ill pull it, or the guy who's bandwidth we will be leeching will. So dont advertise it in a file forum, or something similar.
Thanks.
a laid back mix? Songs like :
5. Ghostland feat Sinead O Connor - Guide Me God (Paul Van Dyk Mix) [Vandit]
3. Solar Stone - Seven Cities (Michael Woods Remix) [Lost Language]
these are hardly called laid back, these songs are placed good in the mix because the surrounding songs are laid back but these will just wake you up.
not bad
looks like a good tracklist, good luck with the mixing
4. Gouryella - Gouryella (Original Mix) [Codeblue]
6. Delerium - Silence (Dj Tiesto In Search Of Sunrise Mix) [Nettwerk]
7. Solar Stone - Solar Coaster (Original Mix) [Lost Language]
8. Solid Sessions - Janiero (Pronti and Kalmani Vocal Mix) [Positiva Promo]
9. Ayla - Ayla (Dj Tandu Mix) [Positiva]
Whoa, love all these tracks, I would die on the dancefloor if a DJ did this to me. I wouldn't be surprised, though if the elitist bunch of TA's chides you on too many anthems in the set. If you played this as a warmup set in a club, you'd piss the mainline act off massively (but have no complaints from me
)
I haven't downloaded this yet, as I'll probably have to tweak the firewall to let me access port 55555, and it's time for a midnight lunch break down at subway.
lookin' good!
i see you have mekka - diamondback in there!
brilliant choice
ohh... & solarcoaster and ayla as well!
very nice indeed
but 84 meg, that will take me quite awhile to d/l
*sigh*
If anyone has any mixes they want to give me for next month then message me on irc or icq (7135926) and send it to me. Each month ill put some one elses up.
Nice mix escee. Isn't the michael woods remix of seven cities an ambient mix?? As in no beats?? Anyway as long as the mixing is ok this set is a stormer. I just did a set the other day for my girlfriend (more vocals and easy listening) using software:
01 Hydra - Affinity (orignial mix)
02 Tenth Planet - Ghosts (vincent de moor remix)
03 Paul Oakenfold - Southern Sun (unreleased dj tiesto mix) <---- I had to, she likes it!
04 Jan Johnston - Calling Your Name (thrillseekers dub)
05 Accadia - Blind Visions (club mix)
06 Coast 2 Coast - Home (original mix)
07 Sonorous - Protonic (ronski speed remix)
08 Aly & Fila - Eyes Of Horus (ronski speed remix)
The michael woods mix is actually pretty different to usual michael woods stuff. Bedrock asked me if it was all ambient too. No its not, at all. Its good.

my thoughts on escee's mix
I've just been listening to this mix and talking to excee at the same time on icq about it.
So here's goes my constructive criticism:
Watch out for the beginning, compared to the rest of the track it's way louder. The first mix into "He's all I want" is pretty good, first time I've heard the track, and to quote a friend of mine, it shoulda been a dub IMO. The mix into Seven Cities is a bit of a trainwreck on the phrasing, escee mentioned it took a bit longer to spin up. The drop into Gouryella is good, but this would have to be the longest amount of time I've heard this track played in any set (8:43). Most times I've heard it played it's mixed out before the second breakdown (the breaksey sounding bit at about 23:37 in escee's mix or 5:42 into the track). I felt that it played a bit too long for someone that is familiar with the track to kinda get a bit bored (though I love this track). I haven't heard "Guide Me God" before, but it sounds a bit under EQed on the vocals. The mix into Silence is pretty good on the phrasing, but the levels are all out of wack, comparitively. Solar coaster was brought in a bit too early on the phrasing I think, but it's close, this is another one of those "heavier records" I guess. The mix in of Janiero is good. Nicely EQed, but the best mix is the mix into Ayla, I've only heard Janiero once, and I've never heard the Tandu mix of Ayla, so I had to search quite a bit to find the cue point, cause I honestly couldn't tell when it came in.
Overall a pretty nice mix of a tonne of my favourite songs, especially for a someone pretty new to the decks. It could do with some post processing of the eq's if you wanted to listen to it alot, especially around the beginning.
I cued the file while I was listening to it, and went back over it to adjust the cues exactly, so here's the cue sheet for those of you lucky enough to have a copy of mp3cue.

ahh, shit, i cant connect to this through windows...it times out. gotta check out some of these phrasing/eq issues...
tracklist looks interesting. chilled. chose a few mixes uncommonly picked. from prev comments, sounds like u had trouble with gains. i'll dl tonite, n critique 2moz!
ftp's a good idea, it'd be pretty funky if auta had an ftp of their own allowing each other to upload and dl each other's mixes.
yeah every month ill upload someones mix as long as i can keep using this ftp and it doesnt get hammered too much, so send me a mix if you want me to put it up. So far ive got one from bedrock.
how can i send them to ya escee, i don't wanna upload cause it will take forever on my 56k.
get on icq or irc and send them to me, thats the only way.
just had a quick listen to ur mix. well, mainly just the trannies from the cue sheet. havent that much time on my hands, n familiar with most of the tunes already, so yea.
agree with most things skware says. beatmatching still needs work, but u recover without causing a great gallop which is good. eq also needs more of a work out, few transitions sounded a lil messy. notice you fade out outgoing tunes pretty quickly. dependent on style, but personally prefer longer mixes. gradual the better incoming n outgoing.
terms of tracklist, it was nice. upside down 'cos' curve vibe. only didnt agree with seven cities [woods remix], felt a lil outta place. fav transitions,
diamond back -> he's all i want
solar coaster -> janeiro [Pronti and Kalmani].
faded solar coaster out too quickly though, either that or tune finished? *shrug*
anyway, it better than what i can do. i've only been mixing for 2.5 weeks? =) but it's uncanny how much u notice n pay attention to detail once u begin mixing. i'll throw a mix soon ur way maybe, n let u abuse the shit out of it. =)
I should have added to this that my criticism is coming from someone who doesn't mix (yet ... but wants to soon), and I was being overly harsh, but overall I liked it.
I think the ftp idea for auta and ametures' sets is a great idea. I'm lucky enough to have an American cable provider with unlimited transfer... it's only 48KB/s upstream (384kbit/s), but Escee, if you'd like to collaborate I'll be glad to have 24/7 access to my ftp for this purpose. you know where to find me if you wanna discuss. downloading your set now btw, I'll post again with feedback!
