i know everyone has different music tastes..

to me, i listen to most of judge jules sets and its not that bad.. he plays alot of anthems and the crowd just goes nuts.. i don't understand why he's so hated tho??

is it because he only plays anthems??

isnt a dj suppose to play songs that people like and dance to?

not everyone hates him, i like him loads.. an he always manages to set crasha on fire so i dont know where the complaints are coming from

i think its cuz he has a cheezy style of music and its not everyone's cup of tea... sorta hard cheez/trance stuff i like it

i admit, sometimes when you listen to judge jules sets, its kinda annoying cuz most of the songs he picks are so hard and kicks really hard and sometimes u jus need time to mellow out..

doesnt he have a contract with radio 1 so he has to play SOME sort of commercial music that suits to the public??

yeah, i don't hate him either. it's just sometimes his track selection ain't all that great and he adds in his 'hip-hop' influence into it which just ruins it. but he hasn't done this in the longest time now...he's been spinnin' quality sets in the last month or two.

he doesnt always play cheez.. last time i saw him 2 weeks ago he was playin really nice darker stuff, kinda tribally a bit i spose fuckin megatronic

i think also a lot of ppl dont like him because he was one of the few dj's that brought hard house forward into the public's eye... granted its not the hh we hear today but ppl dislike him cuz they thought he was commercializing it.. he wasnt really, just getting it heard a bit more because in them days hard house was unheard of to the general public.

well....i saw jules in melbourne in march...and even though i prefer progressive house and trance, i had heaps of fun as jules played a 4 hour set...we had a laugh with him and he seemed like a top guy and would always participate with the crowd! got some brilliant photos of him posing for the camera as well! lol....awesome set..full of energy..and thank goodness not that hard house crap with the horns and sirens etc

Well , this is wierd, last year Judge Jules was loved by everyone, he used to be alot more trance, than kinda went for Trance and House on 2000 ( UK demand ?! ) and then Im seen all this comments that he sucks, in gatecrasher, like no one really likes him like they used to before, but on his latest sets, his been alot more concentrated on the trance side... and when I heard him spinn in GC, ( he was a surprise DJ ) people were surprised to h goog the set was, people were calling it the exception, but what made him good was the tunes he played.. TRANCE choons.. so I think that he sounds alot better playing quality trance tunes in the GC.. and maybe wherever else he goes :-) Hopefully that would bring him back... but.. those that hate commercialized tracks , hate him just for that reason, even if the set is banging, but just b/c he played some commercialized stuff they hate him ?!!?!?!? COME ON!! WTF!

I think he's a cool dude.......I saw him playing at Qontact, party in Holland and his set was amazing.....you can download it here btw

he plays with the crowd like a fuckin actor ...... it's pretty cool

He plays to the crowd but when ur off ur tits in a club thats what u want. What i dont like is that he seems to change his style every week. so one weeks he'll play a blinding set and the next it'll b totally different, ive also heard some proper dodgy mixin from him. A couple of times i heard him drop the worst beat matching ever it sounded like i was DJin!

On his Radio 1 show he has to stick within certain guide lines, so yeah some cheese is played on his radio show
but his live sets are something else !
you all heard Qontact !
that for me was the best set @ Qontact

some of the Hi-Gate stuff is commercial but caned and unable is a cool tune

Angelic, not too sure what his influence is with Angelic cept his wife is the singer and he has done a few remixes of Angelic's tracks

I think 2001 is Jule's year, his live sets are kicking
he is throwing in a lot of crowd pleasers but lets face it that's what the crowd wants, to hear tunes they know and get off to, but within those crowd pleasers he is throwing in some new stuff, again useing Qontact as an example

I have yet to hear anything by Ariel that I like, sorry! I dowloaded "A9" ages ago and after one listen deleted it. Angelic "It's My Turn" (Ariel Remix) is one of the worst "trance" tracks I've ever heard! It managed to sound even worse than the original! And then there was the boooooring Ariel Remix of Storm "Time To Burn". Yawn!
