-- How do U make drum tracks?

Posted by trance_mix on May-20-2001 17:37:

I have never produced electronic music before and reading posts in this forum has got me interested in this area. I've used a computer as a multitrack recorder but not as an instrument.. I know the basics but making drum tracks is something i have never done. How is that done?

there are 2 ways to do it:

1) The easy (but less versatile) way is to use drum samples and arrange them in a prog like fruityloops.

2) The hard (but loads more creative) way is to synthesize your own drum sounds with any software synth. Some are better for drums than others.

Or you could just get Reason and do it both ways

Thumbs up

Hi Trance_mix what are you using or want to use to produce you music at the moment ?. The best way is to use a sequencer { Cubase , logic } use a Synth to import MIDI than record into audio , than take only one beat stabs the best one then clone it as many times as you want .

I'm using Cakewalk and yesterday I get Cubase VST. For keyboard I have a Yamaha DX7, so I'll be using them and I could also get some software off the net because I have a fast connection. I would like to do some sampling. What do you think of Gigasampler?
