What John '00' Fleming thinks of VIVA Nightclub

We don't need j00f to tell us that Viva is the greatest Trance Club in T.O.!

But its definetly great that someone who plays here a lot and has played ALL the big venues has such a high opinion!

Hmm I think we'll let him come back!

that's sweet john dubs is the bomb, wish i could have seen him play there, ahh well, im goin to viva for the first time all the way from calgary to see johan with a few of my TA buddies, should be a blast. cant wait btw, what time will johan begin his set?

I wonder if there's any other DJs who are as attached as J00F is to Toronto

you know sometimes we complain about the asians population there, but if there were no asians there would be no Viva.

And Viva isn't just TO's newest trance club, its TO's ONLY trance club.

And its consistant with my theory about the party/trance scene in north america.

everywhere in the world is huge into trance except for here. Asian party very hard over there, much like the europeans.

Really i do not think so, they only complaing is the 40 plus people who go to the clubs i think. Most people here do not mind the asian connection,]

But yah Viva is a club i want to check out when i get the chance.

I was watching J00F and not dancing during the first 4 minutes of his set. I was absolutely enthrawled with the music but nonetheless it was hard to miss that massive smile on his face during the initial build up of he first track. But as the track dropped and we all began to dance, I saw that it wasn't just the music that was making him smile, it was the bond that he had with the crowd, a bond that only a few other DJ's make. Indeed J00F knows what we want and what we love and does everything in his power to give it to us.

I guess I could put it best when I describe J00F as Toronto style Tranceaddict, or would it be better to call Toronto, a J00F Tranceaddict?

Whatever the case it's always great to hear that big name DJ's love Toronto, and even more so when they call it their second home. Not only does it guarentee a return, but it also ensures that their positive notions of Toronto will spread to other DJ's who haven't been hear before.

Ya ever notice that DJ's always say good things about the gigs they play? If you read his whole diary he says amazing things about China, Glow in DC, Surface in Ottawa, Aria and Toronto.

Why do they do this I wonder? Prolly because first of all they love what they do and enjoy playing to audiences in different places. And of course why would they saying anything bad? They want to return!

It seems us Tranceaddicts like to look at what they say about our home town and think that we are special. Sure, its nice to hear but a DJ like double oh rocks every perty he plays at. Of course he is gonna have a hype crowd and a good time.

Hopefully what really happens with all this is that j00f goes home tells all his DJ peers that Canada rocks and more will be anxious to come.

Maybe the place is better then I remember.

Sometimes it's best to let the Le Francois's believe what they want to believe. As long as it keeps them from starting the all to frequent 'we are better than you' threads I will normally refrain from responding to these random comments.

The next night I played @ Surface in Ottawa. This is one of those small underground clubs. I never want to forget my roots and will always venture to clubs like this. They are special in their own way. It's great being able to express yourself musically to a crowd that will understand what you are doing. I dusted off all those deep, dark and twisted trance records that never usually see the light of day and blasted them out to a welcoming crowd, it was very satisfying!
