Vocals and languages

What do you think of vocals that are in a language that you don't understand?

edit: Coup, could you correct the first option for me please? Where it reads "sad" I meant to write "said"

as long as it's beautiful
ayumi hamasaki

I sing along to Milo-Jungle of Mirrors all the time, so I guess language doesnt matter

Posted by pnuemo on Feb-19-2003 05:33:

i prefer english, because its the only language i can understand... but for the most part, as long as it sound good, and its female (MALE VOCALS BLOW), then i'm game!

Its sort of funny that you should ask this because if anything its better that vocals be in another language you don't understand so that if they are corny you don't feel retarded for listening to the song.

I don't care about language if the melody is beautiful.

Foreign language vocals are mint, ...the vocals sometimes add another element to the track.

If the melody fits to the vocals, I dont care bout the language!
Although I like to know, what the vocalist is talking to me.

Sometimes I prefer 'non-lyrical' or 'non-English' vocals, sometimes I prefer English vocals that I can sing along to I'd say it is's a 75/25 split though with me favouring the former.
