-- Hard Drive question....
Hard Drive question....
ok... i have a c, d, & e drive. not seperate hard drives, just that my main hard drive was partitioned into three seperate drives (no idea why or how, it came like this) i was just wondering if there was anyway i can put them back together again so i'd just have one big hard drive, instead of three smaller ones? thanks...
do you need to keep the data on all 3 partitions or is it ok if it gets deleted?
Any data you wanna keep i would advise you copy over to another hard drive, and then delete the partitions in dos. Fairly easy to do.
well if he wanted to keep teh data he could invest in partition magic and that is pretty much 99% sucessfull at doin what he wants it to do, though i wud do what fly says and use fdisk in dos and wipe all partitions and make a new one
go with fdisk or partition magic 8
search google for fdisk / partition magic tutorials, they can help you pretty well
thanks a lot guys for your help... sorry it took so long! haha. and could someone explain how to delete the partitions from DOS? and rename it as one... thats something ive never done before. and btw, i could move all the files to a different hard drive. heres the actual set up on my comp. i have 2 REAL hard drives. one is 40 gig, that is partitioned into 2. c:/ ( 34 gig) and d:/ (6 gig). the other hard drive is 6 gigs, partitioned into 3 drives. e:/ f:/ g:/ (all are 2 gigs.) i want to make the e, f, & g drives into one 6 gig e:/ drive.
sorry if this is really confusing!!! if it would be easier to explain in AIM, my SN is Shamez214. thanks for the help!!!
