US seeks 'German regime change' over Berlin's anti-war stance: weekly Berlin, Feb 17, IRNA -- The United States government is pursuing a 'regime change in Germany', following Berlin's hardline anti-Iraq war stance, the weekly magazine Der Spiegel reported Monday. It cited a recent article by prominent US journalist William Pfaff in the International Herald Tribune in which he said that the US administration 'is seeking the political destruction of (German) Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder and a regime change in Germany'. "This is the first time that a German government has taken a stand against Washington and refused to back down. A chancellor who does this must not, in the current view, be allowed to get away with it," Pfaff added. He stressed that Schroeder's ouster was 'the real current priority of the Bush administration'. Berlin-Washington ties have hit rock-bottom over deep strategic differences on dealing with the Iraqi regime of Saddam Hussein. Germany has repeatedly warned America that any military attack on Iraq would further destabilize the volatile Middle East region and promote international terrorism. OT/HZ/AH End |
don't believe everything you read..
The US diplomacy is just about the worst one in the world lately. They are showing total lack of interest for different opinions and that's not a way to behave when the popularity of the us in the world is just about lowest ever.

Jeeez... and about the lack of Diplomacy coming from BUSH, you guys should read the thread I meade about Bush's brother, Jeb Bush, calling SPAIN a Republic .. what a shame and insult !
Where the hell did this crap come from?
Obviously George doesn't care for Schroeder but I seriously doubt the veracity of that article.
I thought the "real current priority" of the US was disarmament in Iraq ...

Heh, for a second there I thought it was going to be an article from The Onion or something.
Like everyone else has said, don't believe everything you read.
This is complete bullshit. Show me some proof that the Bush administration is seeking a regime change in Germany.
