-- What is the best club of NYC?

Well people, I was just wondering what the best club in NYC is. See I say Vinyl rules, but a lot of people I know say it sucks.
Please tell me what you think.

Twilo is the best club in the U.S.

It has the best line up, sound system, & vibe/energy.

Vinyl is good but it has its draw backs. It's doesn't have a liquor license, it's tiny, & basically Danny Tenaglia is the only 1 playing there.

Sound Factory! Nuff Said!

SF Garbage? I'm not a JP follower i just like his music I like alot of DJ's i just happen to like SF and JP the best. Dont get me wrong Twilo is great but at least Peters caters to all audiences unlike Vasquez who doesn't like straight people at Twilo. I actually saw him stop spinning one night for no apparent reason then I looked around and there were alot of straight people there....Its a shame he is so stuck up!

Oh also, it seems alot more people from twilo are now poping up at factory since the close. That must count for something.

lol mizz!!! we all know you secretly love JP and we know that you go to SF every weekend....its ok you can admit it!!

Vorlock....I must agree with you that JP caters to more people by playing a variety of genres in a given nite...though the main genre he spins is house. But when you compare SF to Twilo if you count all the dj's who have residencies at Twilo...Twilo actually caters to more people. And these dj's at Twilo are on the cutting edge of those genres....not like JP who waits till a trance song becomes an anthem before you'll hear it at SF. I'm not saying SF is horrible....I used to go there religiously from Jan of 99 till Jan of 00. So I definetely spent a lot of time in that place.
If you mean that JP caters to a more diverse crowd...well then open your eyes b/c SF aka "the pretty people place" is full of juice heads and silicone gurls. There is definetely a certain type of crowd that JP spins for.
And as for JR not liking a straight crowd well he is a gay dj and spins for a gay party...he's entitled to prefer a certain crowd. Besides hes not that good anymore so who cares anyhow!
And I think that some "Twilo-ites" are showing up at SF b/c that is probably the only club with a crazy afterhours party in the city. Most of the peeps I know who went to Twilo aren't heading out to SF...they are hitting smaller clubs...lounges and bars. Some aren't even going out at all. Most of the Twilo heads that are stepping out to SF are just in need of their weekly dose of krak!
I guess what club you think is best is really all a matter of personal preference. One person may think one club is hot and another might feel that it sucks. I guess all that is comes down to is that we're all club kids in the same city wanting to dance our asses off to musik that touches us. And as long as the musik is the reason we are out there...that's all that really matters!

j/k... they will open a Space in NY, Vegas and other city is i saw here.

No one can cater to the crowd like Paul Van Dyk. I don't think JP can even hold a candle to him. Its different. First, JP doesn't really spin trance. He's more of a top forty DJ. As far as trance goes, PVD always is more attentive to what kind of crowd he's playing for. I think thats why PVD performances never sound quite the same. Hopefully, if Twilo doesn't reopen PVD will play @ Space. Until then, Vinyl is definitely the hotspot. I never saw a Tenaglia performance @ Twilo, but his set @ Vinyl was bangin!! The only thing that sucks is that they don't allow glow or lights when he spins which i think is absolutely stupid.

he's right...JP on his best day can't spin trance, in fact he has always dissed it...

I used to go to Factory 97-98. I recently went last month for Johnny Vicious's M.O.S party. BANGING! I hadn't been to factory in 3 yrs. I'll only go if JV is spinning.

Twilochik is right. The hardcore Twiloites will not go to Exit or Factory. Vinyl & Centrofly definately. Limelight for Gatecrasher. I go to place based on the DJ. I hear Sasha might do Roseland June 29th.

second of all, can u describe vinyl please, i have never been there.
third of all, how come no one mentions webster hall? I am not talking about resident djs, im talking about djs that visit, like taucher and talla2xlc, and swedish egil. What are ur opinions on webster compared to other clubs in nyc?

Btw, is it true the judge is coming to limelight soon, if so then when?
And when is gatecrasher comin?
And damn this is a lot of questions, but can people also compare limelight to other clubs, cuz ive never been to limelight either.

You can describe Vinyl as a House Party with no Liquor. Actually i think a house party would be alot more fun and have better music then Vinyl. I heard Danny T. this past weekend he was horrible!
Webster hall is too touristy and mainstream at least for my tastes.
Limelight isnt that bad though It does close early.
and lastly I believe Gatecrasher was at Sound Factory not to long ago...couple of weeks ago i think.

Gatecrasher was NEVER at Factory. It's always at Limelight. The party is this sat...Judge Jules.

Danny Tenaglia wasn't at Vinyl last friday it was Max C.

Talla & Taucher are awesome. The turn out is weak...no vibe, no energy.

I heard Danny T at the Shadow lounge this past weekend in south beach, he sucked as does his club.

For all you Junior lovers (of which I'm one also)I heard he sucked big time in Vegas. Was anyone there?

If it wasn't gatecrasher at factory a couple of weeks ago then it was someone with the same style and playing a gatecrasher promo in the middle of the set. I wondered why crasher would be there since, like you said, they are always at the limelight.
