Smile Amazing work!!

over the last few months I have noticed some amazing tunes have been produced by artists yet to be signed to a label! artists such as Robert Nickson (5th Dimension,Ultima etc) Inzite (Everest) Haak (Pulling Strings) Peter Dafnous (From here to eternity)Aspiration (eternal remix) to name a few have passed some amazing tunes to me that were still to be signed!

There must be quite a few more of you that also produce top quality tunes please pm me if any of you want to send me cdr's of your work? i'll pass on my addy and let you know what i think about the tune, if i like it can give it the push it will deserve

Lets get a new generation of producers on the run!

let me know guys

Jon.

True enough. The wealth of talent on these forums are fantastic, and these guys definitely deserve more credit...

It's good to see someone is willing to to give them that.

im still finding it difficult to get tracks signed...it seems to be the state of the music industry....no-one wants to sign a tune unless they know its gonna shift loadsa units.

its much appreciated when peeps like jon in his position show an interest. (big up to Marc West and Ray Phillips too!! and Brisky from Chemical Records....top bloke!!)

power to the lil people!!!!

my pcs been fucked for a bit so ive not had a change to get fuk all done ...tis now sorted!! expect some new tracks soon jon!!

did u ever get to play any of my other stuff out?

Posted by Martin McG on Feb-24-2003 19:46:

great idea jon! just the kind of exposure amateur artists need! and you get the demos before anyone else! great plan for both parties

Posted by on Feb-24-2003 19:53:

well, i personally believe that if you produce something, and it sounds good, there's no need to give it to djs and stuff
just send it to labels and if the track is really good, you will get signed.
you just need to take notice of witch labels you send your track to, if you send an ambient track to Vandit records, you know you WON'T get signed or even get your track heared by the people there...

i'm not gonna go with that idea, but thats just me

besides, i'm telling this from experience... i'm currenly in contacts with some major labels that i won't name (i don't want any jinx on it, hehe), and i didn't give my tune to anyone to spin somewhere...
so its just makes my point stronger.

The whole point is to 'test' the track. If people dont respond to it like you think they should, its back to the studio, if it totally goes off, then a record company will take noticed. Example, Eternity is going to be released on tsunami which for me is a pretty big goal, this wouldn't have happened if jon hadn't taken interest and we teamed up to promote the track.

well there are good sides to that idea, i'm not saying it doesn't
but i personally do not believe in it.

congrats btw

Posted by Hedgehog on Feb-26-2003 19:17:

sorry, i have to partially disagree with u there mate.. yes what u say is true, that if u send it to the right labels and they like it then they will maybe sign it.. but as modular said, the industry is very careful at the moment.. they dont really want to sign things unless they know it will sell. so if there are DJ's playing your tracks, and they are going down really well in the clubs then this will make these labels see that its worth signing
