Posted by TrAnCe CoNtRoL on Feb-23-2003 05:28:

good movie. i liked it a lot. if you liked it i can recommend donnie darko, a similiar movie in the effect of "whats a dream" and what not. in my opinion donnie darko shits all over vanilla sky. donnie darko is such a good movie.

About the song that was played at the end when he's on the building.

same here, although i think the ending is very open-ended, and it might just be that he doesn't wake up.

You should try Mulholland Drive, one of my favorite movies. Donnie Darko IMO is the "lighter" version of MD
another great movie btw!

Posted by benoitfan on Feb-23-2003 16:01:

oh and yeh Vanilla Sky is great, but IMO nowhere near Donnie Darko or Mulholland Drive

Posted by DCaff on Feb-23-2003 16:11:

I thought VS was a good movie. For once you dont know exactly whats gonna happen at the end of a movie. I have Donnie Darko but never got around to watching it.

Posted by TheFeeling on Feb-23-2003 16:22:

Yeah I love that movie, and also donnie darko love such movies that make my head spin

This song is called "Nothing song" or "njosnavelin" and for your knowledge I can mention that Sigur Rs come from the same place as I, Iceland

hmm never seen it, but Vanilla Sky is a very popular drink here in sweden. quite tasty, but somewhat pricey.

has anyone seen the original version of this movie tho? think its Argentinian or something...prolly better tho. unless youre a subtitle twat|

Posted by Konijn on Feb-23-2003 16:47:

Vanilla Sky is a god-awful film riddled with Scientology undertones

Mulholland Drive is terrific as is Donnie Darko (which also has a great cover of Tears for Fears' "Mad World" by Gary Jules).

I've not seen it but it's Spanish and Penelope Cruze did also act in that movie

Posted by TrAnCe CoNtRoL on Feb-23-2003 21:27:

the spanish version is called "abre los ojos." open your eyes. hence the thing at the beginning of vanilla sky 'open your eyes.' basically, the director of vanilla sky hollywood-ized it, by adding some well known actors and made a lot of money off of it. from what i hear the director of abre los ojos is a genius.

It's true, The Others is also a reproduction of a Spanish film

this movie just tripped me out. it had such potential to be good but it was long and weird and made me cry (at how bad it was). keep this movie away from me!!!!

Posted by Trancender on Feb-24-2003 21:32:

In my opinion one of the best movies I;ve ever seen...so emotional and mind boggling. I loved it from start to end. What a Love Story.
