Marco V explains why his latest tune is called C:\ del*.mp3

C:\del *.mp3

We've never had this much comment on a titel for a track we did, so I felt the need for a little explanation.

As I stated before in numerouse articles and interviews, I have never been against mp3. Without it, a lot of people would have never heard my productions and it has also proven to be the ideal medium to exchange djs-sets online.
The joke of naming a track like this was that it would be impossible to name it "C:\del *.mp3.mp3" on your system. We were very curious what alternative names you would give it!

I hope they will be as original as the one we came up with ;o)

whichever group is the first to release this is going to be famous. literally in DOS command language it means: delete all files with a .mp3 extension on the C drive. if ripped it i would just call it "C Drive".

ok...this is incredibly confusing and stupid. maybe i'm a complete retard, but "C:\del *.mp3.mp3" makes no sense, and its justification for why "C:\del *.mp3" is cool also makes absolutely no sense, because you can't even name a file "C:\del *".mp3 anyway, let alone "C:\del *.mp3".mp3 ... !! i am totally confused.

EDIT: WOW I am a complete retard!!!! i totally missed that the point WAS that you COULDNT name it exactly that on a system...lol... please hit me...

what i found confusing was that "C:\del *.mp3" is impossible to make on your system, let alone "C:\del *.mp3.mp3" ... lol...

if i had to name it on my system, i'd use

"Marco V - C del mp3.mp3"
or
"Marco V - Delete All Mah Mp3's Suckah.mp3"
or
"Marco V - Weirdest Name Ever.mp3"

He showed it to me at a gig last month and ya know what? I didn't even blink at the title! I just figured it was something to do with where he had the file stored or maybe it was something to do with Cafe Del Mar that he had started on...

The tune is fucking awesome, BTW! He played it twice that night and the crowd blew up over it!
