2 Chillout Rooms? (hear me out :D)

How about getting rid of the Gaming, Chillout Room, Humour & Politics forums and instead just having under the main forum header

1) Chillout Room (lighthearted discussion, humour, cool websites, gaming etc..)
2) Off-Topic Discussion (serious discussion/debate (eg politics, depression, health, etc..)

I only say this coz in the chillout room most flaming seems to be caused by

a) People taking the lighthearted threads too seriously
b) People making a mockery of the serious threads

At least this way people would have an idea what kind of behaviour is expected, though obviously flaming is still not tolerated. It's difficult to know when the fun stops and the serious discussion starts at the moment, and there seem to be too many sub forums (i.e. gaming, politics etc..) cropping up and being requested. Plus a lot of board users seem to only use the chillout room for one or the other. Might I just add that if you need a mod for the serious one, I've been told I'm sensible

Oi... I am!

sensible....you lie....rofl

tho something should be done about the little use forums.....or something should be considered.

Yeah, right Just kidding... the problem is that people would often confuse the forums...

Your idea is pretty mint, Spad. However, I'd rename the forums:

1) Humour forum (your Chill out room)
2) Off-topic discussion (the same thing)

so it would be easier for noobs to understand...

Yeah the names don't matter, that was just an example

Imagine how many new threads you'd get daily!

This is not directly related to what youre talking about, but I'm curious whats the use for the Archive forums? One hasnt been used since late 2001, one since early 2002, and one since late 2002. Recent classic threads, identified tracks, and tracklists arent moved to the Archive forums anymore.. instead they just sit around in the forums where they originated (which is fine, use search if youre looking for something). My solution: get rid of these three forums.

if you do that, wouldn't there be huge postings?!

I mean the humour forum is getting new stuff daily & the chillout is completely renewed every 2 days, so I'm afraid it'll become very unsorted and lokking to page 3 for a thread u just made or sumthing....

in short: too many postings to keep track of...?

u have a point about the flamings spad, and i think thats a good idea as it will keep the mature people together and the immature people who dont have many brain cells together to!

Hehe that wasn't exactly it but yeah, just seperate the serious discussion from the fun.

Also true... hhmmmm... maybe, the humour forum/the gaming forum/the sports forum could be sub-forums of the chill out room? Just like the "track of the year" poll is a sub-forum of the music related polls
