Why are there so many trance haters out there
Ya know, I was really wonderin why so many people hate trance? I am on a board in NC and everytime I post about trance I always get the response "Trance is dead" Its really gettin irritating. Hell no one in North Carolina will book me cuz I am a trance DJ. And from what I have been told I am a pretty decent DJ. What do you TA's think about this subject? Give IllusionZ some feedback ...
Heh, say the word trance here and the response you get is "huh?" or "what?". Say techno and then the jump down your throat with "techno sucks, all it does is repeat over and over". Yes, people are ignorant and don't realize what they are really missing. The good part of it though is that we all know what they're missing 
trance is the least favoured electronic music I find... euro dance and house are way more popular.. but it all depends on the scene in your area i guess.
trance doesnt get the respect it deserves. For example, when ever i would tell people around here that i play trance the first thing they say is " oh i hate trance cause it boring and it makes me tired ". then i say " have you ever even listen to trance or are you just saying that because of the name " trance". most of em dont even know what trance is.

I definately can relate to all of you, its better this way though....we no whats going on...
I know its all about respect but when I am on this certain board all they do is preach about respect and then they post comments like that .... gets me baffled.
the best is when people think they know what trance is b/c they have heard zombie nation and sandstorm. i tell them that comparing those songs to trance is like listening to who let the dogs out and saying you understand hip hop.

It's a bit arrogent to assume that. People should respect & appreciate all good music, whether they like it or not.

A lot of people who disrespect Trance only listen to that chart junk on radio or MTV. Here in Europe and especially germany/switzerland there is now this remake time period where oldies are put into a more "danceable" form. some of them might be good, but the vast majority is the pure shit. and there are so many remakes at the moment. and unfortunately only those "songs" get into the charts. Hey if I wouldnt know the other part of electronical music I would think the same when I hear this bad cheesy stupid junk remakes over and over again. they are not just not good, they are plain bad, like this eminem without me junkshit and the likes..

Dude u have a similar problem to what we have down here although yours seems a bit worse. You have to realize your city may not be ready, hell maybe even your state isnt ready for the music. Theres really nothing you can do unless you take the mad challenge of being a pioneer in your region or you can always move. Down here no ones ready for REAL TRANCE, they want to hear is Sash Dj Encore and britney spears remixes so i feel your pain brother!!!

I hear those comments all the time. It's eithier people who have only heard the commercial chesse tunes or ignorant people who have never heard trance before. Don't let it bother you, YOU listen to it becuase YOU like it and that's all that matters.
Most uneducated people don't class it as real music 
This whole issue always seems to be the worst with our American TA's. The reason for this is because there is hardly any trance scene over in the States compared to here in Europe.
Its obvious that the majority of the American population listens to Pop, Hip Hop or Rock rather than Electronic music because it is far more commercialised.
Hopefully the scene will grow over the coming years in America which will prevent all these close minded views on Trance music

Try spinning Trance all nite in Chicago and the club will be empty . They either want euro , house or (hip-hop <-- which really sucks) ! We have to play at least six different kinds of music every nite , but at least it keeps the place full ...
yea i know what u mean, im the bay area, california and rap pretty much rules all over here, putting down someones taste in music is like putting down why someone likes a certain color, people just like what they like, just listen to what u feel like. and keep pushing djillusionz if your good youll get your shot!
