omg....Ashley Casselle - Essential Mix short review

Didn't expect anything on this mix, I listened, I got into it and I was blown away.
Best mix in a long while, strong contender for ess mix of the year IMO.
Breaks, progressive, house, trance, tribal, it has it all.
Part 1 is more housey with breaks while part 2 sets off a little more progressive to continue to an ultimate climax.
The first climax at Lo-step - burma, when u are at this moment u'll be completely blown away...the mix continues with some breathing room...but fastly builds up some more excellent tracks that grab u with your throat and don't let u go anymore for the rest of the mix.

Excellent mix is all I can say.
9.5/10

Amazing essential mix which contains tech house and evil prog. The guy played an azming M.A.N.D.Y record which is on pysical.

It seems to have blown alot of people away as i have heard great comments from people on this essential mix. Im gunna go listen to it now.

as for the essential mix, i only heard about half of it, but what i heard was really good

there was another thread about this great mix few days ago...Check out the Alice in Wonderland accapella near the end of the set!
IMO this is one of the best EMs: tons of great tracks, effects & accapellas. This is what I call creativity.
it reminds me the good old Tom Middleton EM (2001). If you like Ashley's style then go & download Middleton's mix which is just as good.

Best Essential Mix of the year by far. Absolutely mindblowing stuff; it's got everything. Who dare says Electronic Music have got genre distinctions now? Technically it's amazingly creative, musically it's the very definition of the journey that DJs try so hard to create in all of their sets. I know it's already 4 months from the broadcast of that mix but I still can't seem to take my ears off this EM!

Hey man, also check out the high contrast ess mix, very good one too.
Actually the second listen got me into it, because I wasn't used to the drum&bass.

Tranceseeker: Make sure you listen to Moshic. Up until now his set has been my favorite EM of the year... but based on your comments I think this one may top it

i just don't understand this sudden increase of talk & attention around essential mixes... especially essential mixes done by artists i've never heard of before. i think i'm missing / missing out on something big. i must catch up on all the great & amazing EMs i missed.
