*Thrillseekers - Synaesthesia

A condition in which one type of stimulation evokes the sensation of another, as when the hearing of a sound produces the visualization of a color

a beautiful and such a fitting name for a trance tune

*BT & PvD - Namistai

It's a Sanskrit word that means "I bow to the divine in you." It is a greeting, a welcome, an invitation to communicate.

Cryptomnesia is, literally, hidden memory. The term is used to explain the origin of experiences that people believe to be original but which are actually based on memories of events they've forgotten.

Veracocha is something indian... I heard Ferry explain this once on interview he did prior to Hyperstate 00...can't remember wxactly what it was tho.Der Schieber means literally "the pusher",as in somebody who pushes something.I suspect that it has a slightly different meaning than that, tho.More here:

Arrakis - Medusa Pt.1

A Medusa is a fantasy creature from greek mythology. It's a giant, vile head with fangs and snakes for hair.It is said that anyone who looked straight into the Medusa's eyes would turn to stone cos of it's terrifying look.

John Starlight - Blood Angels

The Blood Angels are one of the armies in the strategy board game Warhammer 40,000.John Starlight made this tune for Maral Salmassi's concept label Art Of Perception, whose releases are a form of soundtrack to the game itself.

My French is really bad but I know "blanche" is white. I think "Carte" is book or map or something along those lines....

No doubt I'm way off the mark though...

And thanks for the Der Scheiber translation Sand Leaper...

im not sure what the artists had in mind when they named themselve Kansai but, kansai is a name of a prefecture in japan. lol...Osaka the city is in Kansai prefecture.

*Carte Blanche

i always assumed Carte to mean letter.. i know in spanish carte means letter, at least but i guess it would make sense if it means White label. would be extremely clever of ferry & vdm if they named it that for that exact reason

Venus = godess of love & beauty a.k.a. Aphrodite in greek myth..

i think aphrodite is the greek name where as in roman mynth, she is always reffered to as Venus.. if that makes any sense

like how Zeus = Jupiter and Hades = Pluto, they are of the same characters, just different names due to different cultural myths.

Mars(roman) = the god of war aka Ares(greek) and; Venus(roman)= goddess of love & beauty aka Aphrodite(greek)...hence:

"Men are from Mars, Women are frm Venus"

Balearic (as in Bill) refers to the group of islands off the coast of Spain of which Ibiza is a member.

Ligaya means delight or happiness in Tagalog

What does Das Glokenspiel mean? (and what's a Luftbaloon by the way?)

Das Glokenspiel is the name of the instrument that is played through this track right?

Interesting thread btw.!

Posted by dj_mdma on Feb-28-2003 18:50:

Das Glockenspiel means "The Glockenspiel" The glockenspiel is a musical instrument that is composed of wooden blocks that make a note, sorta like a mettalophone. A glockenspiel makes the main melod in the tune.

carte Blanche means "White Card"

I was told by someone that backstage passses were referred to as White Cards, although i'm not sure. That is where the connotation of "the freedom to do stuff" comes from as u can do lotsa stuff when u go backstage or something!
