The BEST mixer................

What in your honest oppinion is the best mixer for about 200 or 250??? I was thinking maybe the Vestax PCV-175. - 219.00?

Please help
Thanks Rich

Cool

175 is a very nice sound quality mixer, however paintwork chips easily, channel faders are far from durable and the kill switches make a click noise when flicked. probably the best for its price, if you can save up and get the 275 which is worth the extra funds

Thanks for the info The thing is at the moment i have a KAM - GMX7 A good mixer but a bit old, i want a new one that has more features. I heard that the 275 is very good, but i also want a Pioneer CDJ - 100 and cant afford both.

For that kind of money, I'd go with Numark Matrix 3, Fusion Series. Friend of mine had the Vestax 175 and I had the Numark Matrix 3, and mine outperformed his by quite a bit, put it this way, enough that he went next day and purchased the matrix 3 and sold his Vestax 175 on ebay or something. Also Matrix 3 has quite a bit more features for the money than any other mixer in its class.

Good Luck!!!

DJ Tranz - that looks quite nice mate. Tell a litte bit about it... what did you pay for it? what's good about it? bad about it? *interested*

I've got a vmx300 and 2 pioneer cdj100's, and I'm very happy with them. (I believe the price range from the vmx300 is between the one from the vestax 175 and 275, but I got mine cheper through connections )

First of all the price range was 200-250 euro and the djm 600 is not the best mixer. If u go and do a search people who has use the 600 say its shit.

I Have PCV275 and its an 'Amazing' Mixer in terms of Sound an build and the EQ's are brilliant. the only thing it lacks is the onboard effects unit, which i sometimes think u dont really need at home nway.

The DJM600 is not a shit mixer, Its infact a BRILLIANT mixer, Brilliant in every possible Aspect.

But if were after the best mixer it wud have to be the Allen&Heath Xone:62 right?!! Nothing quite comes near it really, Sensational Build,The Sound is by far superior to any other mixer and the Filters and effects are top noth.

If someone asked me to pick any mixer on the market and i could have it. Id pick the Xone:62 anyday!! Anyone with a brain wud right??!!!

haha @ your ignorance, the djm is a brilliant quality mixer and you are probably to stupid or elitist to realise it. i have tried many mixers including the xone series and i much preffered the 600s. lemme guess you have a little crappy gemini mixer and wanna bitch about mixers that u can't afford just because you don't have one?

The mixer is very nice here are the techs on it:

MATRIX 3 fusion series MATRIX high-performance mixers feature a unique formed steel faceplate designed to enhance feel as well as durability. The ultimate combination of form and function, MATRIX mixers provide a superior tactile interface. The faceplate is removable for easy access to a replaceable crossfader. When in place, the faceplate captures control knobs so they wont pull off. MATRIX mixers consistently outperform the competitionand look good doing it.
Features:
Inputs: 3 phono, 6 line, 1 mic input w/ EQ
Outputs: master balanced, zone, record, fader start, PFL sampler send
Omega true optical crossfader w/ extra-wide knob, assign, slope, hamster switch, action light, fader start
Dual BNC light connectors, recessed rear panel
Process looping w/ blend control
Punch IN/OUT transform buttons
-40 dB KILLS for bass, middle, and treble
Channels contain long-life input faders, 3-band rotary -30dB EQ cuts, process insert loops, gain, panning, 8-position input toggles, PFL meters
1/4 and 1/8 headphone jacks w/ split or blend cueing
by far more features than Vestax 175 has and I also have a friend that has the Vestax 275 and he also was jealous that my mixer which is about $150.00 USD less than his Vestax.

To g-money: No I am not out of my mind, I demo(ed) both mixer in a professional studio set up demo room of my friends DJ Equipment store and Numark by far had a much better quality sound, plus the EQs on Numark have a much wider range and better sounding.

I played anything Psy Trance, Epic, Cyber, Progressive, House(Progressive and Hard House also), Little Techno, and Little Nu-NRG. and the mixer held up like a dream. Retail on this mixer now is $299.99 USD, Shop around and you'll find this mixer for around $235-$250.00 USD, if you like a friend of mine is selling his, which is only about 6mnth old for $200.00USD firm and it is in brand new condition, he got a DJM600 for Chrismas and really hates to depart with this one, but he needs the money to get new needles, shoot me an email if you are interested [email protected]

to everyone that thinks DJM600 is all that and a bag of chips---XXXXXXX WRONG!!! Our club has a DJM 600 and you guys have no clue how many times that freakin' thing has been in the repair shop. The mixer is used only by Professional DJs, so you know that they know how to use a mixer and not abuse it. The fact is, you want a good mixer that is preferred by many professional DJs? then here are the top 3, Allen and Heath Xone 62 or 464, Rane MP44z or 2016 with processor, or UREI which kinda looks like Rane 2016.
I just picked up Tascam X9(was told their 2nd edition) and have been playing with it for two days straight and can already tell you that performance and features are by far more and MUCH BETTER than DJM600, which don't forget when did DJM600 come out??? lol!!!

That's my setup as well, and it's great! VMX300 is great value for money really, mine was around 260 EUR (DJ Hardware here in PT is expensiveeeee! )

First of all i have more money than u ever can work for Mc dicks and second your mixer stills sucks. A real good mixer shoudn't have an effects unit in it and second my effects processor that i own is worth more than your piece of shit mixer. my set up is worth more than your car or watever u own.

Hey what do u do for a living ( Mcdonalds, if not u must be a bedroom dj hey).

Posted by Gourhellyea on Mar-03-2003 04:23:

getting back to the topic, i have had a pvc 175 for half a year now and the paint work is fine. just dont use any water when cleaning it. i cant compare it to the numark cause i never had one but i would suggest that you save up and get the 275 mainly because you cant hear the eqs of the cued track through your headphones on the 175 so you dont know what elements of the song are what and dont really know how the mix will sound until you actually do it. my mixing is suffering because of it and i am thinking of already upgrading to the 275 when i get the money. my friend has the 275 and it is pretty sweet.
