Question hip hop?

Hey all, i know alot of people on here dont like hip hop. I was just wondering who else likes it on here besides me. I mean im not a huge fan, but its nice to listen to when driving and when i'm not in a trance mood.

Jurassic 5, the roots , and blackalicious are good rap...old tupac, tribe called quest and slick rick are also good.

I live in Cali, so yeah I do like hip hop. I'm not a huge fan though, I dont even really follow it nowadays. But I do enjoy rappers with an old school style like Slick Rick and Gang Starr.

i'm not a huge fan or follower of hip hop. but i do like to listen to it when i get a chance. Its good stuff.
I do think theres a difference tho between hip hop and "hip pop" which would consist of nelly, ludacris, ja rule and so forth.
I'm definatly not a fan of hip pop.

Just like trance, the best hip-hop is the underground shit. Down with commercial shit such as JA RULE!

I use to love hiphop before my trance days. The best, like someone said above, are the underground hiphop groups. My favorites included Binary Star!! Mos Def, Common, and wu-tang. ALl these guys actually know what rhyming really is and they dont just rap about money, bitches, cars and such. But now I have trance which is so much more emotional. I love it

I like some hip hop like mos def, nas, tupac but the radio stuff is super gay. Ja Rule is not a rapper he is an RnB singer. He sings all these love songs and needs other singers to sing with him like j lo and asanti. Since we are talking about hip hop stuff. What you guys think of 50 cent?

i prefer triphop when i'm in a car and not in a trance/prog mood.. never hiphop

Posted by TuanAnh213 on Mar-01-2003 04:05:

I've been a hip hop head for a long long time.
I will always pump stuff from the golden era of '87-'92.

Now, I listen almost solely to independents--and a few choice others like m.o.p. and gangstarr...

word, pretty much same deal here, i started out on underground hiphop(real stuff) like gangstarr, del, tribe called quest, etc... none of the commercial/pop stuff. Then i started to feel the flow of Electronica and here i am, another trance head. But when im driving to school or somthin i listen to both hiphop and trance, more trance nowadays though.

Yeah I dig that underground hip hop stuff as well. I recently picked up the "Underground Airplay' compilation. Pretty fine stuff indeed. I also like that turntablism shit. Stuff from the Return of the DJ compilation cds.
