which ones are the best??
Sony MDR-V700DJ are good...I use the Sony MDR-7509 and they are very good...
i have a sennheiser hd 270 headphone, i works fine but is my first set of headphone so i don't can compare headphones
I usually wear my headphone upside down. Sennheiser HD-25 is good to clamp my face.
Besides, it's lighter than the Sony MDR-700DJ.

The Sennheiser HD25 are definitely the best pair of headphones I have ever used ... and I tried the Sony, Technics, Pioneer DJ cans and none of them comes close to the HD25. They do cost quite a bit but like always, you get what you pay for.
Aye... and the parts are replaceable. So if you broke the wire or the earmuff, you could replace those parts instead of the whole thing.
My personal favorites are the IXOS Ministry of Sound DJ1001.
They give the Sennheisers and the Sonys a run for their money.
I actually have the Sony MDR-V600...don't know why I said the 7509's earlier....

Sony MDRV700DJ headphones rock... Synheisser's are good, but they look SHIT admit it... they do! the Sony's kick ass in looks and performance! =) hehehe i recommend them!

The silver sonys are good but get really uncomfortable after a while.. not so good for long sets.. the sennheiser hd25.. well let's just say i don't even realise sometimes that i'm wearing a pair of cans on my head!
I use the Sony V-700s and they sound amazing. I agree that they are a little heavy and they don't clamp to my head well so I have to wear them in the "standard" position. However I think they are very comfortable and I've worn them for upwards of 4 hours without a problem.

Well my man, i gotta say, the Sonty's kick ass, they are used by PvD, Tiesto just to mention some... if u can replace the parts on the synheisser's does that mean they fall apart? cos if they dont, y supply parts??
Haha, no offence but the MDR700 are totally poseur headphones - flashy and don't perform as good as the Sennheisers. Personally i find that they are overemphasizing the upper part of low frequencies (100-200 Hz) which I don't really like at all. Not to mention they don't isolate outside noise as good and they weigh twice as much.
About replacable parts, I'd like to see you yank the cord out of your brand spanking new $150 Sonys and not being able to replace it.
Concerning PvD, Tiesto etc. using the cans, do you seriously think that there isn't some sort of sponsorship deal between Sony and the big-name DJs ?
Also when you look at the announcers' headsets during sports games they're all using HD25 ... hmm, I wonder why =). Probably not because of excellent sound reproduction and flat frequency response.
Before you bash a product make sure you know what you're bashing.

I am very Anti Sony..so thats my idea, I use em, but they break ALL the time. Sony has horrible service, and yeah..they just r shit...but the headphones themselves r good.(sound wise)
Well, my man. PvD did use Sennheiser headphone. Check out his DJ set at Love Parade. The Sony ones just look good with silver. It's a fad, seriously. The reason why the parts are replaceable, so you don't need to buy a brand new one if you broke some parts of it. You are a DJ, you should know how much torture a headphone will go through. Headphone is probably one of the most abused equipement in the DJ setup. They get stomped, pulled, shoved, and stretched. Some DJs have to buy a brand new headphone simply because the cord was torn. With Sennheiser, you can just replace the cord instead of buying a new one.

Well I for one don't really care if pVd or Tiesto have an arrangement with SONY to use its headphones. Those DJs are so professional and obviously want good quality products for all the gigs they do so I trust them to use top-of-the-line headphones. Maybe I'm just being naive but I trust DJs that I respect for their skillz and track selections/production to use choice equipment.

The sony's(7000's) are decent, true you can't replace the parts, but when you are dealing with expensive equipment, be a tiny bit carefull!
I've had mine for over a year without a single problem. As to whether or not they will be comfortable is down to individual head shape. I also own the senn hd25's and technically the sound quality and frquency response is better but the sony's do have more kick to them and are good to use in situations with unclear booth montitors. As for the looks argument, don't even bother, cos if that's really a consideration, why are you bothering trying to find out which headphones are "best"? There is one pair on Sony's no-one ever mentions The MDR 7005's. These are apparently better than than both of the 'phones mentioned before, but no one ever seems to stock them. They have a better freq. response but reatain the punch (and then some of the 7000's) and come in a cool understated black. At the end of the day, the main question when buying headphones is "which pair is best individually suited to your needs?" fuck the stats and looks etc just find the ones that sound and feel best for YOU!!.
Sorry for the lecture guys, but this kind of thing pisses me off.

I don't think anyone's bickering here. At least I am not the one to start up that, but I intended to finish it. Then again, you finished it for me. However, you do realize it is very hard to maintain those expensive equipments in a hectic situation like DJing.
Ive used both sonys and sennheisers and the sennies win hands down. Apart from the fact they are actually used as monitoring headphones in some studios (proving their level of quality), they can take an amazing amount of beating. If something breaks - sennheiser replace. ive blown two speakers with the pair that i have (purely due to having wayyy too loud and wayy too much bass) and the company has simply replaced them with no questions asked - AND QUICKLY. sony are friggin useless when it comes to things like that. i had to wait 2 months for spare parts once!!! Unfortunately, though, there is only one headphone in the sennheiser range worth using and thats the HD-25, the model below uses the same components but has a different head brace thing and its a real pain in the ass to use. I think theres a few new models out but i havent seen or used them yet...
