Well here are my thoughts.

1) I thought Judge Jules played an average set. It did absolutely nothing for me, It was like a standard Rise set. I also hate the way he bobs around on stage, because he's as stiff as a dog up there.

2) Junkie XL was great IMHO. "Take the Blue Pill, Take The Red Pill.."

3) Caught the end of Sander's set @ The Globe, which was decent. He finished with the new Underworld tune. ("You Bring light in... From A Dark Place")

4) Bushwacka played some full on tribal stuff which was OK. Not really for me and the 'treble' was cranked so high at the globe my ears felt like they were gonna pop.

5) Armin's set was nice. People went spastik when he dropped For An Angel. That was a good moment for me.

All up it was pretty decent.

I thought it was a Very good night! My thought was towards some of the ends of the sets they seemed to taper of.

Did any one know what one of Judge Jules tracks its called, either one or two songs the either side of Borne Slippy? Sorry to be so vague I was having too much fun They were male vocals with "alone" in it!!

Cheers

Orbital in case you didn't know that track and want to get it...

It's something like Scratch D vs H Bomb - Take The Pill (Infiniti's Born Into Bondage remix), breaks track.

I can't remember the exact track name, I think that's slightly wrong, but I'm not at home and I don't have it with me....

Either way........enjoy

Alright so after seeing my girlfriend yesterday, 13 hours sleep, and missing a day of uni today here are my thoughts.

Got there at 11 and went straight to the globe. I would have gone to the globe even if i hated progressive, because there would be no way im waiting for 1 hour in the line at metros. Its always that way too. Even when just round the corner old berlin is open with 1/10th of the line. Chad D was playing good stuff, met up with Bedrock and then he called a Layo and Bushwacker track deep south i think. Couldnt hear all that well since we were right under the speaker. Dave Seaman came on at 11 and started around 5 past. Jah came and met up with slade and me about 15 minutes into seamans set.

His first 45 minutes were great. Only track I knew out of it was Holden and Thompson - Nothing (93 Returning Mix). The track he played after this, and the track after that were both great. Wouldnt mind knowing the name of them. Then as i was slowly getting pushed toward the back his set was dropping off a lot. Lots of tracks with horribly hihg pitched vocals (maybe due to the system) that i didnt really like. However he was really getting into it, dancing and singing along to the songs. The filterheadz mix of emerald might have been in there, not 100% sure but. After some relatively cheezy tracks seaman picked it up again. But he still dropped some tracks with horribly high pitched vocals. One being a song that bedrock called a scooter remix, not sure about that one because i dont listen to much scooter . Another one being a remix of Madonna - Ray of Light. Not sure what mix though. Seaman also dropped Breezer which was the first time i had heard it, and it was good stuff. Really nice track. Then he went on to play U2 - Staring at the sun (Brothers in rhytm club mix) which was amazing. Really liked that track, seaman brought out his lighter and was moving it from side to side. Seaman finished his set with a track that used a lot of guitars, bedrock thought it might be a coldplay song remixed.

After that sander klienenberg got on 1. After joking around with seaman and the crowd by holding up a how to dj book and pretending to read it while seamans coldplay track was still on he got into it. Me and my friend left the globe to seek cheezier pastures in metros. Didnt want to miss any of armin's set so we said good bye to slade and jehahn and moved on. We got to metros at about 1:45 to hear junkie xl banging it out. Im dissapointed i didnt run to metros to catch all of this guys stuff. I was expecting a little less conversation type stuff.

fuck me he was banging it out. GO SEE THIS GUY! He was great, really getting into it. He played until about 2:40, so i was able to catch about 50 minutes of his set. He played Breezer which was great. Everything sounds better in metros and hearing the same song twice proves that. After breezer im not sure what he played, a track which had a chunky beat and bassline, maybe his emerge remix. There were some other tracks he played that i cant remember now. Then i heard the beauty never fades intro and died. Hella good track. Singing along to it, but it looked like i was the only one who knew the vocals. Then after beauty never fades, Dj Tiesto and Junkie Xl - Obession. I seriously recommend to everyone who hasnt gone to two tribes yet, see this man. His performance was great, so energetic and killer tunes. Dont use your hate for the progressive house as an excuse not to go either. My friend who usually hates proggy stuff was really liking it. Ill say it one more time. GO SEE THIS GUY!.

Then at 2:30 armin walked on stage to the sounds of obsession. 10 Minutes later armin started playing. First track was Hydra affinity. I was 2 rows of people from the front and desperately needed the stage to lean on. I cant remember much of the order of the tracks. But woah. This was the best set ive heard live ever. The tracks he played were great. His mixing left a lot to be desired in some places with what just seemed like him fading it up and then quickly taking the other one out. There was one he took the outgoing one out before the incoming one had properly built up and it was just beats basically. He also mixed tracks that didnt even go together. Another reason the mixing sounded dodgy probably. But the tracks he played though... omfg i die! more than made up for the shoddy mixing. When he played for an angel, everyone went fucking nuts. It was insane, having never heard that song live before i loved it. So much energy. Same when he dropped born slippy at around 5am or so. I was so tired from dancing for near 5 hours, and having been on my feet all day. But that didnt matter when the synths of born slippy hit (btw it was the original, not the new 3 drives one). I was shouting all the words with this chick next to me who was loving it nearly as much as I was. Im dissapointed he didnt play solid globe north pole. I was the guy the front shouting it out toward the start. I tried my best to get it played (some guy went up on stage with Solid Sessions - Janiero to get signed, i wrote on his bit of paper "play solid globe - north pole" didnt happen but ). Btw was the guy with solid sessions record a ta? figure there is a decent chance of it being someone if they were getting a vinyl signed. Jehahn (jah) came and saw me up the front for a little bit when armin mixed in the weapon, but then dissapeared a few songs later. At the end of his set armin through out two records into the crowd. Ive read from other boards that one was sunburn, and i saw the guy with the other record which was yet another day. I was keen on stealing it . After armin put on his encore track (Yet another day) he jumped into the crowd and got mobbed by so many people. I figured this was a good time to walk off the dance floor and sit down for 5 minutes. Armin finished at 6:15 which is suprising since usually at metros its power off at 6am.

It was a fuckin amazing night, best night out ive ever had i think.

Bring on two tribes 04.

indeed bedrock is right, i thought it a very odd song choice, but everyone seems to be going that way recently, playing a track that doesn't belong anywhere in the set except at the very end, and often can't even be mixed in, simply for emotional purposes.....

Posted by Slade on Mar-04-2003 08:59:

yeah it has a full guitar intro

any ideas on the track?

3.5 Hours of Armin.....Blisssss...

The best ever in Perth, wayyy better than Tiesto's Two Tribes...

...and at the end even he mixed with all the ravers on the dance floor...

...is there anyone nicer than him..?? any DJ..??

I cried when he dropped autumn tactics....that song's sooo sweet

...and it wasn't Flaming June that he played...It was 3 Fingers - Frozen February...

It was a fuckin amazing night, best night out ive ever had i think.

hey man, that was me. i came across the tranceaddict website, and noticed there were forums, found the australian forum, and then comments about two tribes. needless to say i was very amused by small world syndrome when i read someone describing me on a foreign website

i wasn't quite sure what i was supposed to do with the north pole suggestion. wasn't as though i was going to stroll across to armin and whisper in his ear 'um, someone wants you to play north pole'. i think that piece of paper is still in my room somewhere.

ooh, do you know those chicks that were right beside you ? heather and clare ... anyways, i got some stuff signed for them and have their number, but couldn't be assed arranging to give it to them if they're just randoms. okies, laziness overcome, i've msged heather and told her to let me know if she's going to pvd.

overall it was a fucking awesome night. everything else this year will pale in comparison to dancing (got so paid out for 'floating') onstage to armin.

hey, who were the ppl in the photo with armin, cos i was on the couch next to tom (jxl) when that photo was taken. anyways, if i see you i'll say hi.

Posted by escee on Mar-28-2003 03:31:

woah

small world indeed.

though if i saw you again i really doubt i could remember what you looked like.

Posted by Calis on Mar-28-2003 03:45:

ahaha, very small world.

i think if i looked at you directly i'd recognise you, cos when you were writing down north pole i was looking at you thinking 'what am i meant to do with this?'. fark me i was mashed.

here is a photo of me on the night:

http://www.inthemix.com.au/photos4/...y/acn.sized.jpg

i'm the guy in the orange top next to the gurner in yellow (a mate of mine who was *very fscked*).

it is a very interesting photo, because you can see Lanithium on the right hand side of the pic.

just goes to prove you can be dancing unawares next to someone you chat to on a forum.
