windows 2000 problems

i want to restart in ms-dos mode...how can this be done. i can no longer click "start menu/shut down/restart in ms-dos mode."

i want to use fdisk (which windows 2000 does not support) to repartition and then i want to reformat my drive. how can this be done in windows 2000?

Just throw a ms-dos boot disk with fdisk & format on it into your floppy and reboot. Wahlaah. There is a DOS mode in 2000 but you have to enable it.

Insert Win2K CD into CD-ROM drive after 2000 boots up. goto a ms-dos prompt (Start, then run, then type cmd, and press enter) Goto your CD-Rom Drive while in DOS (D: or whatever the letter is) chnage directory to i386. then type winnt32 /cmdcons . This will install the command console and allow you to boot to DOS instead of Windows2000. Good Luck

This has the potention to become the largest thread in TrancEaddict history.

Windows 2000 has more bugs then a 4 year old carcas.

i don't know...my system seems to be running a lot smoother and more stable under windows 2000. i upgraded from windows 98 se...the only problem i am having with 2000 is that a few applications do not work with it...and, this is a strange one, a short time after a reboot the pixels in the "check boxes" and the small "maximize, minimize, close" icons in the upper right-hand corner get scrambled.

I wonder if anyone here uses a mac, or does TA have an anti-mac policy?
