Fuk Ibiza, wanna come down to ayia napa for a drink?
Been to both Ayia Napa and Ibiza........Ibiza by far is my choice for a drink
I'd love to go to Ibiza. It's huge in Europe, as a big holiday spot I know. When I was in England...everything related to clubbing seamed to have something to do with Ibiza...I mean all the magazines had the word Ibiza splashed all over the cover..Ministry's guide to Ibiza, Ibiza this, Ibiza that...So I suspect (to some people) Ibiza represents the crass commercialization of clubbing, which might turn them off. Many of the biggest trance djs have (or had) residencies in Ibiza so I'm sure there's no shortage of trance on the Island..
*dreams of partying on the beach during sunset to a kick ass PVD set*
I hate winter
LiquidX is right, during the summer the big nights at the big clubs are mostly trance. However, there are big house nights, too, like Ministry@Pacha, and also an awesome techno night with Cocoon@Amnesia on Mondays *drool*

im goin to ibiza straight after my last exam and i cant wait!
I went to Ibiza last summer and to this day, I can't remember why I left. If you go, you may just want to stay. It is really all that and a bag of chips. Well worth every penny. Nothing like it in the world. As the others have said of Trance on the island is true. The big club nights with the big name djs are Trance, but for the most part, house music rules over there. But the clubs and the atmosphere are so incredible over there that you don't always need to hear trance, although it woulda been nice. Sunsets at Mambos, drinks at Bar M, clubbing at pacha all night, and space all day. Y the hell did I leave??!?!!?!?!?!?!?!??!?!!??!?
wouldn't go yet.having the likes of pvd, tiesto, ferry, armin etc reaaaaally rarely over here has made me caring more about the dj than the music...so i guess i'm not ready for a huge event or ibiza yet
well my exams are over in june 29th, then ibiza 2 weeks after straight away!
im sure the big djs will be out by then

ibiza is fuckin expensive 23 euros for a vodka reb bull
sounds great!
Id love to go to ibiza and experience a good trance night there. I dont think it would have been as good as it used to be, Listening to cafe del mar while watching the sun rise at 5am (one of my mates dreams is to experience this) but it would be a good experience. Maybe sometime next year

The complaints you sometimes hear abouit the noise from the nearby airport are way exaggerated. I hardly noticed it.
haha! cant wait
i was there for a week last summer, and it was the best summer of my life. just being able to ignore all of you priorities and resposabilities, get smashed and take the party bus home only to go sleep on the beach for an hour or so...
and the clubs (aside from the water thing) were amazing, very well kept, the DJs were all amazing, playing their best stuff it seemed.
i do agree it was blown up quite a bit for a while and things seemed to be up in the air with clubs and dates and talent, but that was all figured out before the clubs opened...
GO, HAVE FUN...
Hey guys..
I went there this summer to tape my documentary.
These are a few things you should know.
DO NOT STAY IN SAN ANTONIO... that is the worst place to stay, to many 18 year old hooligans who want to cause fights stay there. Its not safe either.
Also.. be prepared to pay 40-50 euros to get into the big clubs or big nights...
Please stock up on bottled water as there are no fresh water taps anywhere on the island.. its all saltwater. Make sure you dont get too thirsty becuase you will shell out 8-9 euros for a bottle of water.... I know.. thats crazy
Definately visit Manumission on Mondays.. as the whole islands is basically clubbing there... 15,000 people in a club the size of a mall... absolutely crazy
The best place to stay is JET APARTAMENTOS.... in PLaya den bossa... its right on the beach... Bora bora is 1 minute walking distance... and its near Space too. The airplanes do fly over.. but its cool to see how low they fly over the hotel (as fucked as that may sound)
Be prepared to pay for a taxi whenever you want to go anywhere.... unless you have a rented car or know someone ther with one.
Also get a Ministry ibiza guide on the Island (its free) so you know what or who is playing at which club during your stay....its like a clubbing/dj guide to your stay.
When you are there.,... you will definately make lots of friends... and everyone there always has connections to the clubs
When i was there ... i interviewed Armin van Buuren and he said there is more than just clubbing on the island... what people dont know is how beautiful the place actually is. He recommended people renting a car and driving around the island.. and seeing the landscape.
Thats all i can think of now.
Hope its helped.
Oh... and the Island predominantly plays house..... but if you want trance.. you just have to look at the dj schedules and find the ones that play trance.
This year... Amnesia was pure trance (Tiesto and PVD inone night) and also the Godskitchen Parties in Eden.

Also staying in San Antoni allowed me to watch the sunset at mambo's every night! If I'dve stayed on the south of the island then I'd have to take a taxi everywhere. I know there is a lot to do in Ibiza town, but I don't think I understand why everyone thinks space is such a great club. I went once and wasn't really impressed. It reminded me too much of clubs in the US. Maybe perhaps because the famous terrace wasn't open while I was there? I wish I had gotten to see it. I was there for the carryover party after Ministry of Sound on Friday @ Pacha. Anyone got any ideas?

Sure all the Brits stay there, but most everyone I met was really cool. Never saw any fights and actually felt safe everywhere I went. |
