Has PVD been MIA?
Is it just me or does it seem like PVD hasn't really been releasing much material the last couple months? After out there and back, which was filled with a bunch of dated sounding tracks (I heard it was because of some complications with his record label), i haven't really heard much material from this man, which is really sad since i get really excited when i'm about to listen to one of his new productions/remixes. He had remixes of born slippy and almost learn to respect ur mother....but i was not really feeling these tunes. Well, Born Slippy was quality but didn't meet the PVD standards i've come to expect...(cream, flaming june, synaesthisia, 1998)
So anyways, do you guys think PVD is falling off? Maybe he is in the lab workin on a new LP? All i know is....We Are Alive was the cheesiest single i've ever heard from him, i was shocked when i heard it and i'm still waiting for him to make up for that disaster. I cringe everytime i hear him mix it into a set...which seems to be always since it's his lead single off his album. Are there any quality remixes of this track that i don't know about and more importantly any quality new productions remixes from mr van dyk?
You'd better check his official homepage - he has already made some remixes this spring.
Greetings,

CJ Slater

good lookin out....
yah, just checked pvd's website, seems i have missed some of his remixes. Also, i saw a 4-06-01 set at casino berlin, it looks off the heezy, do u guyz know where i can find this bad boy? Also, u guyz agree with me that We Are Alive is shite correct?
The breathless mix isn't bad.
Tell Me Why & We are Alive are his worst productions. Utter cheese that has gotten extremely commerical...he should be embarassed to have his name on it.
actually, i liked tell me why...it was quite commercial but still maintained and elegant and sweet sound. Also, i liked the vocals...I guess i thought it maintained a good balance to appeal to both trance/commercial crowds leaning more towards commercial though...but Alive is just horrible, sounds like cheesy europop or something and that woman's voice in the song is horrible.....
Tell Me Why (Vandit Mix) kicks ARSES...
and specially mixed with Columbia before it
i agree with starfox.
all 3 versions on the vinyl are great.
the only thing that's cheese of his is we are alive, i couldnt believe PVD produced that. maybe he didnt (conspiracy theory?)
lol!!
hehehe
members of mayday / jam spoon
i just heard the PVD remixes of members of mayday 10in1 and the new jam & spoon after hearing about them in this post. Is it just me or are the remixes anything BUT quality? Especially 10in1, it reeks of cheeze.....
members of mayday is cheese
but im starting to like it.
haha
cheese? the breakz are HOT!
judge jules = cheese
pvd i dunno why he played it, just cuz it was his mix i guess
da hell!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
hheheehe. PvD has 3 remixes of this song!!
hehehe.. and about Be.Angeled. PvD Club Mix is fucking classss
also vandit mix
10 in 1 has the club/members only/short mix correct? Members only was decent, nice and hard, but I found the melody for the other 2 mixes, which will undoubtedly be more popular, to be extremely cheesy.
As for angeled, the meldoy is decent but i guess i just don't like the deep male boogieman vocals
. I favor the vandit mix with less stress on vocals and it's a lot harder. I find that the club mix doesn't really develop enough....
thats critiquism... nice done
I got different opinion about both PvD's remixes (Be angeled or Members of Mayday)
I love'em both.

maybe it is just my preference in music that is changing? I find that i am starting to move more towards progessive sounds like sasha, digweed, seaman, etc....

but regardless of whether i like his current remixes or not, PVD will always get his props because his past remixes were so mindblowing. 1999 PVD remix is my personal all time fav and cream/flaming june are not far from the top of my list.
yes, it's true that the scene is becoming very progressive but i think that many uplifting/melodic productions are becoming more commercial/cheesier than ever at the same time....
