March 17 deadline proposed
Britain is proposing an amendment to the U.S.-backed U.N. resolution that would set a March 17 deadline for Iraqi compliance with the U.N.'s demand for disarmament. Unless the U.N. decides Iraq has shown "full, unconditional, immediate cooperation" on or before that date, the resolution reads, Iraq "will have failed to take the final opportunity" to disarm.

Certainly the potential is there! Incredible potential! Destruction of the planet many times over! Mutually Assured Destruction!

Maybe, maybe not... I sincerely hope for the good of all that sanity will prevail. Because, in today's world, having another world crisis (or war) will make Hitler's work look like child's play, what with all the nuclear, chemical, and biological weapons around. Not much would be left, certainly almost nothing organic...
