-- Poor Palestinians
Poor Palestinians
I am disgusted at the recent figures that have been announced since the Itifada in 2000. Isreal is really making the situation better for everyone... starving children.. exponential degradation of the economy, and wages ending in 2 dollars a day. This is just great!

cant wait to c what bullshit will mike come up with in reply to this...
They've destroyed the entire Palestinian infrastrure--and then everyone wonders why desperate people take desperate (and tragic) counter-measures
BTW: During the first Intifadeh, there were 23 Palestinians killed for every Israeli; in the current one, it's 6 Palestinians dead for every Israeli--further alarming Israelis and prompting the punishing incursions into the West Bank and Gaza
Poor Cyrus King
Hey Cyrus King!
Rather than display your ignorance and demagoguery, why don't you ask yourself, "Why did it come to this?"
And if you ask yourself this question, you'll delve deeper into the HISTORY of the Israeli-Palestinian question and discover that, in 2000, the Israelis were ready to achieve a difficult compromise, which would give the Palestinians control of their areas.
The Palestinians' response to this 2000 offer of peace?
Violence, terrorism, a new Intifada.
The Palestinians had a very real chance to secure peace and stability on their own terms. As a result of the stupidity of their leader they lost this chance. Not only that, but they started the violence (the Intifada). Please, let's not forget the recent past.

| Originally posted by Cyrus King I recall in 2000, the Intifada began after Ariel Sharon with 2000 of his troops marched into a sacred holy mosque known to the Palestinians. This was an utter disrespect to their ideology, and knowing more fanatacism and death would result from this.... he nevertheless carried out this eruption of controversy. I think i have read my history well enough,,, its you who does not look deep into the history and see what really goes on. Do you actually think after reading that article that i would say.... "you know what.. Israel is doing the right thing!Lets make them suffer even more!" |

| Originally posted by Eugene Yes, it is more complex; but in refusing to accept what Barak had gone to great lengths to offer in 2000, Arafat ultimately sealed the fate of his people: disillusionment and failure. |
