Cool Tiesto doing breaks?

Yep, apparently Tiesto has started looking towards the breaks genre and has created this fairly good tune: Chris Hampshire & Vincent Nysse feat. Nikita- Eternal Voices (Tisto's Alternative Breaks Remix)

Check it out, it's on the lastest Blackhole sampler. So what do you all think of him changing up his style?

I think he's 18 months behind Paul Oakenfold musically
and the sooner he realises it's cooler to play trance and mix properly again, the better

Heh, but then again...alot of people are always behind Oakenfold musically. Bash him all you want but in the end it winds up being true somehow.

exactly
the same ppl that bashed Oakey for playing breaks, will be the same ppl bumming tiesto for playing them
guarenteed

*tsk tsk* ..

Tiesto is walking the dark road down to Oakieville ...

Posted by sifntj0r on Mar-09-2003 00:42:

yes god fucking forbid any dj, especially tiesto, wanting to experiment with breaks after his long history with trance

wankers

*listens to Balearic Bill - Destination Sunshine (Tiesto Power mix)

WHats the big deal here? Breaks are HOT right now so it should come as no surprise to see some big name trance DJ's mess around with them. Aint the first time and wont be the last. Afterall most DJ's are hardly innovaters. The whole purpose of DJ's is playing to the crowd and usually that means playing whatever is popular at the moment. AGain...whats the big deal?

Posted by torontotrance on Mar-09-2003 03:17:

sorry..tiesto don't qualify as a dj who plays breakbeat...sorry 2 songs....outta whatever. He used to can new order - crystal (lee coombs mix) and ultraviolet - heaven (wow mix)...but sorry that don't qualify as djing breaks. Tho it's nice to see remixes go into breakbeat.

Posted by Technaut on Mar-09-2003 03:21:

hahah

seriously

Posted by smallSHEEP on Mar-09-2003 04:03:

Kick ass, breaks are my favourite. I hope he plays them more so I don't have to bust my gut looking for good breaks DJ's.

Posted by Rakoon on Mar-09-2003 04:10:

Tiesto's not a breaks DJ, he's not a progressive DJ, he's just an electronic dance music DJ. He incorporates all styles into his set now to create a diverse and interesting atmosphere. He's moving forward, get over it.

DJ Paul Oakenfold, is a truely underestimated
talent ....right there at number 1 with DJ Tiesto ...

Posted by DennisF on Mar-09-2003 13:39:

oh ppls, youre so poor. dont u have other problems or things to do than bashing tiesto?!

Posted by InfiniteSquare on Mar-09-2003 18:59:

great - breaks rule

tiesto def should spin breaks+trance...imo

Posted by T_2199 on Mar-09-2003 19:20:

yeah its great!

taste in music changes with time... I could imagine that spinning trance for 4 years gets a little bit boring for tiesto... so he tries something new..

Posted by Ste on Mar-09-2003 20:06:

ill be sure to check out this new oakentiesto tune

wurd. i'd die if i listened to pure trance all the time, so a nice combo of prog/techno/house/breaks/dnb/hardstyle helps. so don't go blaming tiesto for experimenting with something new. at the end he'll get back to the top anyway (not implying that he's at the bottom now)

Posted by Mister_Michel on Mar-09-2003 21:14:

Good for him, i can image that after so long he feels like it's time for a change. I guess all the tiesto-bashers will be happy now, they have a new reason to complain about him, he likes different styles

FAO Tiesto Bashers: Suck my d*ck!

was going to say a similar piss take

i like trance, prog n house so i don't mind if he mixes those up appropriately, but i don't like breaks, so i'm not keen on this

non
If I knew that there was a point in constructively debating with the "bashers" I'g go this path, but after several months of endless bandwagon bashing I decided to make it short.

Posted by djRyan Jonathon on Mar-09-2003 21:31:

yehaa

I think tiesto should definately play breaks....fuckin trance/ and trance breaks own jOO

Posted by torontotrance on Mar-09-2003 21:33:

Hell, If I wanted to hear breaks, I'd go see adam freeland, hybrid (who i saw recently), dj hyper or rennie pilgrem.
