WhistleBlowingAddict.com

just wondering. how many of you still bring whistles to special events?

i'm not talking about 'raves' i mean going to a big club to see a DJ.

personally, i think it's the most annoying thing to have to be put through, listening to someone trying to 'help' the DJ.

IMO the whole whistle blowing scene should've stayed put in 1999.

I think the DJ's that most TA's go to see deserve more respect than that.

maybe this is just a Toronto phenomenon, the hating of whistlebowers.

it might be accpeted in some cultures

what do you guys think?

i want to punch people who bring whistles to clubs...one did it at armin a few months ago, and i literally had to hold myself back. these people need to be put on death row, immediately!

Last night i saw BT, James Holden, & Ferry Corsten all in one night

there was some dude in the front who kept blowing his whistle and jumping around like he had to pee really bad.

me & LKD wouldnt let this continue all night

after informing him of the dangers of blowing a whistle and choking on it, he politely stopped.

if I ever heard a whistle on a PvD gig, in which I am there as well.. I WILL KILL THAT PERSON make 'em swalllow the damn whistle

Posted by shao on Mar-10-2003 07:36:

you can hear a whistle blowing in PvD @ rosenmontags rave 2002, when he plays Blank & Jones - Desire (4 STrings Mix)...

yup.. pretty annoying >_<

Posted by Endlesswave on Mar-10-2003 07:39:

Yeh, whistle blowers I cannot stand! That one in front of the stage @ Ultraspin (Bt/James Holden/Ferry Corsten party last nite) was just driving me nuts! I can't believe after Liam and you told him REPEATEDLY in a polite way to stop, he wouldn't (at least not right away). Grrrrrrrrrrr

It was a toronto event that pissed me off, but i posted in the chill-out room because I known TA's from all over visit here.

thats why i wanted a variety of opinions, but guys..

no matter where you live, what DJ it is (except Alligator)

IT'S NEVER OKAY TO BLOW YOUR WHISTLE AT A CLUB

YOU WILL NOT BE COOL, YOU WILL NOT MAKE NEW FRIENDS, YOU WILL NOT GET LAID

this has been a tranceaddict public service announcement

Posted by niteshayde on Mar-10-2003 10:03:

haha...agreed. whistle blowers are the biggest pain in the ass. the "TWEEEEEET TWEEEEEETS" fucking does my head in. it seems that no matter how far you stay away from them...once you hear it the first time, you will hear it for the rest of the nite. most also dun seem to understand that they are ruining the song, and it does not make them popular. but yeah...i would like nothing better than to slap the mofo and make him/her eat the goddamn whistle.

I H8 WHISTLE BLOWERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THEY SUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!1!!1!!

maybe I should say I hate the ACT of whistle blowing....

Posted by biznology on Mar-10-2003 10:10:

im glad i havent had to hear them in person - thank god. 'crazy whistle guy', best known from such sets as PvD Rosenmontags and Tiesto Gatecrasher NEC, is somewhat humorous, but should still be put to death.

last time people discussed this, the dutch seemed particularly offended. maybe they can shed light on this disturbing phenomenon|

If there were a smile for clapping I would post it. I think they deserve to have someone blow the whistle directly into their ear for several hours until they are deaf....

In defence of whistle blowers... there's a difference between a club and a rave... at raves there were times you could use it and it would fit in right, it depends on the crowd and the music and whether the whistling actually pumped you up and fit into the track...

Harder edged trancers with a long buildup and then a sick bass-filled peak were great for a few whistle toots and then you leave it at that... peeps who keep going and whistle without any rhythm or point should be shot, agreed.

...but I used to live by the whistle

2 years ago when PvD was here at the Showbox here, a dood busted out his whistle, asked politely ppl around him if they had a problem with it, and apparently nobody did so he whistled.

he did a good job though, i didnt mind it at all, it actually helped out the atmosphere
