Lamb - Goreki
A golden ambient electronic backing props up a wonderful female vocal that sounds like Sinead O'Connor crossed with Bjork. At heart a simple love song, the layers of Eastern rhythms and warm pulsing tones eventually give way to a dancier beat, never losing its mysterious and other-worldly origins. One to play inside floatation tanks, "Gorecki" is a cheap return ticket to the surface of the moon.
An instumental version of "Gorecki" is followed by "Ear Parcel", an unsettlingly weird ambient sound journey similar to those that The Orb used to take us upon, except Lamb travel at supersonic speeds for most of the time. "Lullaby" closes the CD and features more of those distinctive vocals over some scary string and (double) bass discord: this lullaby will give you nightmares. An excellent release and here for you to sample.

Lyrics
If I should die this very moment
I wouldn't fear
For I've never known completeness
Like being here
Wrapped in the warmth of you
Loving every breath of you
Still my heart this moment
Or it might burst
Could we stay right here
Until the end of time until the earth stops turning
Wanna love you until the seas run dry
I've found the one I've waited for
All this time I've loved you
And never known your face
All this time I've missed you
And searched this human race
Here is true peace
Here my heart knows calm
Safe in your soul
Bathed in your sighs
Wanna stay right here
Until the end of time
'Til the earth stops turning
Gonna love you until the seas run dry
I've found the one I've waited for
heard this tune in PvD's 3-1-03 set... very nice!! love they lyrics too

hmmm yes ... i love it. i could see it being played at my wedding.... which will be a very long time from now but still ahh very sensual ... ::
I have two of their albums (got em about 3 years ago). Soooooooooo nice. Too bad I couldn't go see them live when they were here but I just got into them when I heard about the show. Bah. If you like Gorecki (I was OBSESSED w it for a while), get "Closer" and "God Bless" and "Cotten Wool", hell they are ALL GOOD. Lamb is incredible.
(also Gorecki is the 2nd last track off their FIRST self titled album, Lullaby is on their second album called "Fear of Fours". The very last track on "Lamb" is soooo cool, there's about a min and a half of just silence...and then the sweeeeeeeetest mix of a previous song off the album hits) I LOVE IT.
beautiful song
i think i first heard this song like a year ago when somebody sent it to me hehe. when i first heard it i was speechless cuz it was so mind shattering!
the global communication remix is nice as well. a lot edgier, alot abrasive drums n bass
ive only heard a set rip of bill hammel mix of gorecki and truthfully, im not too fond of it

Also, check out Lamb's new single, 'Gabriel.' It's another nice track, promos may still be available on Release Records website.

Am I missing something here? Lamb - Gorecki is OLD news. It's at least 2 years old is it not? Not to rain on your parade or anything I'm just curious as to the sudden interest in it. Is it getting released along with some new remixes or something? Great song btw. Always been one of my favorite chill tunes.

I have a rip of Johny Fiasco's Mix LOL now to find Bill Hamel's!!!

I have Gorecki hamel mix on vinyl, Lamb - Gabrielle (Bill Hamel Mix) one sided promo is available at some stores now
Prolific US producer and DJ bod, Bill Hamel follows up his remix of Lamb's classic 'Gorecki' with his re-rub of 'Gabrielle'.
anyone heard it ?
haven't heard the Hamel's mix of Gabriel, but knew he was remixin the track from last year itself...slated to come out this month!!
SCAV where did you buy it from plus hoooook me up with Gorecki!!!

Big fan of Gorecki, first heard it on Chicane's Ministry set a year or so ago now...but have to echo, is this really new news?
Gabriel is also far from a recent track, I recall having rips of it when AG was still up if memory serves me correctly...
Lamb is definitely a great chill outfit though, hard to go wrong with their stuff at the end of the day with your feet up and someone you love lying nearby
hamell's version is on his balance mix cd (003 if im not mistaken...)
