Posted by JayKuE on Mar-13-2003 15:06:

hey Jon, get the Allen & Heath ML5000, it's only $3.99 at the milkbar.

the vestax PCV-275 is a really food mixer. i dont have one myself but i have used it before and it is a good deal for the price. it usually goes for $350-500 depending on where you get it. you can probably find a used one for cheaper on ebay.

I have the 275 and I am very very pleased with it. Don't think you could go wrong with this mixer.

I agree, Vestax PCV275 is a great mixer. I've also heard good things about the Numark Matrix 3.

$500 to $1000

yeh the pvc is a good mixer but over here they cost $1300 + you guys dont realize how good a price u get your gear for over there.

hey packa can i trade in my mum for one of those? i dont have $3.50 and sik willie chan whop @ the local korean bodaga drives a hard bargin.

could get the pcv 275 shipped in. i was comtemplating upon doin that, but learnt customs tax wud probably be a bitch. who knows, might still end up to be less or about 1000 all up. look it up.

mm. to begin i'd hit the djm300. its 2 chans, but u have 4 inputs in total for 2 line and 2 phono, so u can still use a cdj with it. its a bit inconvenient in terms of watching out which chan ur using, to c whether u can use the cdj, but its workable. + the eq's on pio are pretty tight. djm300 i'm sure u can get for 500-600 so being cheaper u'll be able to spend more dosh on the more important entity, records =)

if not, then also look into ecler-smac pro series. the smac pro 30 for 3 chan. i think its about 800-900. 3 channels, made in spain, i've said it b4, its a sexy box. just touching it, u know its a quality product. the sound quality personally, i think are better than the pioneers. 3 range eq, kill switches and i think it has split cue, cant remember. check out the reviews at futureproducers. they love it down there at the forums. also, it doesnt heat up like a mofo like the pios do. give it a test run at the shop, i think u'll like it and its in the price range. i'd add a pic, but i'm too lazy. but hope that was helpful!

yeah Jon, you know Rob has an Ecler-SMac Pro don't you? not sure which model... but I'm sure you're familiar with it.

I've posted this on another thread, but this is a really good mixer for your price range, it is a 3 channel with balanced/unbalanced out, +12db/-40db 3band highs, mids, lows, eqs. Instant kill toggle switch for temp kill while holding it down or flip switch up for infinite instant kill till you switch it back, 8way inputs, send/receive for external effects processor, separate booth out, split/blend cue monitoring, two headphones 1/4 and 1/8 headphone input. separate eq for microphone which also has separate input. This mixer has been proven for club environment as well. My group has used this mixer for our monthly underground parties for range of 50-250 people, right now this mixer is our back up to my X-9 or my buddy's DJM600.
