Do the Habs have a Chance?

Hey guys, i've never posted in this forum before, mainly because i'm from toronto area, but a HUGE habs fan.

whats the montreal media saying about the canadiens? are they gonna go anywhere this year? could theo pull out stellar performances 9 out of these last 11 games?

they have 2 game vs tampa, 2 vs carolina, and a pretty easy end of year schedule?

the way i see it, anything could happen??

all i ever hear in hamilton is leafs leafs leafs, fuck the leafs.

what do you guys think?

Posted by fastmp3 on Mar-13-2003 20:35:

damn righ fuck the leafs but i doubt the habs will make it to the play-offs this year ...

Posted by malek on Mar-13-2003 21:02:

the team has been going down the hill since 1993 and I lost intrest maybe 5 years ago. I still bother to check the playoffs if they make it but that's it.

The media is already talking about next year...

GO SENS GO!!! Leafs fans are all nasty, never saw a worse bunch in my life like last years playoff, stay in toronto and don't come to ottawa rude bastards hahahahaha, but seriously they were nuts.

The habs have NO chance of getting into the playoffs... that's for sure. Sorry to burst your bubble Muff2k. Well.. someone has to stick up for the leafs, so i guess that lucky person will be me. The leafs definately have the best team they have had in years. With the addition of my main man Owen Nolan (I lived in San Jose for 17 years), as well as Gilmour the leafs are looking strong. I forsee them getting as far as the Eastern Conference championship.. maybe even the CUP!

Yeah, it looks grim. I despise the habs, being a Sens/Bruins fan but after they beat the Bruins last year I began to like them. I feel sorry for Saku Koivu too. He is so much more than a 50 pt in 60 game player. Put him on a line with someone bigger than him and you will see a better than a point per game season. He has to take the punishment that a power forward would to get points.

Well, for the Leafs fans out there. Superstars don't always = success. As can clearly be seen in the Rangers. I don't think the Leafs are gonna win. They need a rally monkey or something if they wanna win (ie they're gonna have to revert to voodoo to be any good!)

if i wanted someone to stick up for the leafs (which this discussion is not about) i would've posted this in the toronto section.

but thanks for you post!

btw, the toronto cupless will reach year 37

They are only 3 points out. The islanders have a tougher schedule and they both have a few games at hand on the rangers. Theodore has played well in his last two games. If they win tonight and the islanders loose they are only one point out. I certainly dont think its time to give up yet. If theodore plays as he has the past two games for the rest of the season, its almost a sure be. However, it would only mean they would loose to the senators in the first round.

And for the leafs fans here. Please get the fuck out. Nobody wants your opinion, not now not ever. So fuck off. If you wanted a flame war there were other places to put it.

Islanders won too though.. too bad. But im telling you. If theodore can stand on his head again they will make it.

even if they make it... who cares. they're gonna get raped big time.

thats what the critics said last year against boston

so if they make it this year its gonna be ottawa, yaya, ottawa is a good team BUT they choke in the playoffs.

nothing is very predictable in this eastern conference of ours the last couple years

-Habs have no chance of making the playoffs
-Leafs aren't going anywhere, despite all the favoriticism by Harry Neil and Bob Cole. (Don Cherry is the only one allowed to be biased).
-Sens have a good chance, but I would definately be surprised if they didn't blow it.

I've been a Habs fan all my life...my grandpa (who came from England after retiring from the RAF) lived first in Montreal just in time for the Hab's 5 straight cup streak in the mid 50's. My dad was a Habs fan and he converted my mom after they got married.

I practically grew up watching Montreal ALL the time. I've seen them win 2 cups (86 and 93) and lose one in 89.

I hope they make the playoffs but Ottawa is looking so much better this year...I really hope they don't choke if they play the leafs in the semis. Fuck the Leafs...37 years and counting and may it continue to count until I'm long dead for I care. I can't stand ANY southern US teams, the Bruins and Leafs.

If Montreal don't make it, I'm putting all my support behind Vancouver, Ottawa and Edmonton. Fuck the Leafs and fuck Toronto. All Toronto is good for is getting good djs!

^^^^

I'm with you on that one

i'd rather see the senators or the canucks or oilers go farther than the leafs

oh yeah leaf fans

congrats on acquiring gilmour

BUT

if anyone watched the calgary-toronto game last night, you'll know what i mean

Posted by fastmp3 on Mar-14-2003 17:35:

man the leafs are jinxed , first game for the guy and he gets injured WTF

Posted by Mike_B on Mar-14-2003 17:42:

i took a leek on my leafs voodoo doll yesterday

Posted by Trancewave on Mar-18-2003 01:26:

burp..

LOL! This thread is too funny. You jokers do realize that Toronto got 5 points out of 6 in the last 3 games against Vancouver, Edmonton and Calgary right? and that's with most of our top guns injured or out of the lineup.

You can't fight it,Leafs are gonna win the cup and the HABS have NO CHANCE IN HELL, neither do the pathetic hapless Sens The only great thing that Habs got is Saku, you guys should've shipped him over to us with Gilmour because Koivu's talents is wasted in Montreal and he should be with a REAL team like the Leafs. mwahahahhahahaa

have a nice day.

Posted by Sean Walsh on Mar-18-2003 02:43:

The habs are still in it, but they need to win probably 8-9 of their last games, so it won't be easy. Vancouver went undefeated in their last 13 last season to make the playoffs, so the habs can do it too.

If not, fortunately I have my darling canucks kicking serious ass this season =)
