Who do u reckon has the biggest record collection of all dj's?
PvD has around 21,000
Tiesto has around 12,000
Nick Warren has around 80,000
Sasha has around 21,000.
I have about 400..LoL!

I guess anyone who has been active long enough.
Oakenfold has been spinning since 85 or something so I guess he
should have a phat bunch of records.
Just a question. I have about 200 records and Im starting to wonder
where I should put the rest of my records. If you have 20000+ records,
where do you put em? Do you rent a warehouse to store them?
And how about finding that special track that you heard 5 years ago?
Must be hard to organize..
isnt it oakenfold or tong that has got a crazy amount?!
yves deryuter has 50,000 i think
Warmduscher has ~35 000 records
Carl Cox has a warehouse full

wow, i want to see a pic of cox's warehouse... that must be awesome. I guess it would suck though, to try and find something, unless you have it super organized (and by that, i mean have it in a library-type format).... which is probably the only it works if you have a warehouse...
Undoubtedly if you had several tens of thousands of vinyls, they would be catgorised or perhaps even organised in a database for quick reference.
If I had shitloads of rekkids I'd want them in a room in the vicinity of my studio!
I've got just over 3000 and I'm literally tripping over them. They are all in my room. On shelves, in cupboards with the doors removed, on the floor under my desk, resting against the wall and in record boxes. They are all vertial though and stacked neatly.
I don't really have trouble finding ones, they are in some form of order that works for me, lables together in some places, others together cos they are the same style, or bought at the same time. I doubt someone else could find something though.
I don't sort them alphabetically as I like to see the labels all together. It's pretty cool seeing nearly a metre of Black Hole label spines on the shelf
When I get my own place I'm gonna do one room out like a record store, with loads of shelving and racks behind a counter with the decks on.
I have a database of the last 500 or so I bought, and paper lists of the others, so I know what I have. That won't help you find something though!
fatboy slim has loads
if u got his 'youve come a long way, baby' album
open up the inlay, and theres like a collage of his room [which is fairly big] and its filled with smiley faces and shelvefulls of records

I wonder if they keep on their older vinyls? I'd just love to go raid some of those guys' collection's
I have a book titled "Last Night a DJ Saved my Life". It's about the history of the DJ, and is a very good read. Anyways, at one point in the book it describes this kid whose dad owned a record company. When the guy was a little over 20 or so his dad died and he inherited the whole fortune, and began spinning records. According to the auther, at the time he found him, the son was bankrupt, his house without running water or electricity. The house was falling apart, and all the wood was rotting. The only thing the guy had was a couch and a blanket, and 250,000 records, stacked up and laying around all over the house.
