Whats bad about GHB

Does anyone know what sort of negative effects it has

Check www.erowid.org, for the best info. All I know is it has a sharp dose-response curve so it's easy to overdose.

I've read all that stuff but i would like to know what people personally feel is the negative side.

well...this is very sensitive for me. But, i have had my drink spiked with GHB before. it's a long story, and i don't want to get into that part of it, but i'll tell you how it made me feel. after i learned i had been drugged, i immediately felt light headed, like extremely dizzy. i stumbled to the bathroom to throw up where i swear to God, half of my organs must have come up (sorry to be gross). after that, i was trying to get back home (and i lived about 2 blocks from the bar). my friend and i were walking home, and all i remember is leaving at around 1:30, and just falling literally about 10-15 times in one block alone. i just couldn't stand up. the next thing i knew, i woke up in an ambulance and it was 3:30 in the morning. i had completely blacked out for 2 hrs, and couldnt remember anything. my roommate told me i was unconscious and throwing up, but i have no recollection of any of it. it was by far the worst night in my life, and to anyone who takes it for recreation (it affects guys different than girls), DONT. that drug is some scary shit and i'm shaking just thinking back to that night.

i've done it recreationally before
if you do decide to try it, i can't stress this enough
DO NOT DRINK ANY ALCOHOL!!

it's effects are kinda similar to alcohol
you get that lowered inhibitions feeling at low doses
but at higher doses it can lead to unconciousness and even death

take small doses at one time and wait at least an hour before even contemplating taking any more

it's very easy to OD
your best bet is to just stay away from it

I don't know much about GHB but I saw someone OD from it. She was foaming at the mouth. She passed out and later stopped breathing. I didn't know her but it was pretty upsetting.

You're wrong there I'm afraid.
GHB is far safer physically than pills, and safer mentally than trips.
GHB is actually one of the healthiest drugs out there.

There are no after-effects, its fairly cheap, and makes a nice change from various other extra-curicular activities

Admittedly, its not a club drug, more for houseparties with friends, its like being drunk, but without alcohols annoying side-effects.

Like any drug, moderation is the key, I do it far more infrequently than pills or trips, but it makes a nice change of pace.

As for abusing it, I don't know how dangerous it is so I can't say.

The reason that I created this post was that I can't seem to find anything negative about using GHB (as long as you don't fuck up and take to much)
I've taken it several times and find it to be a good alternative to drinking. I have seen the down side to first hand. One of my close friends ODed one night and awoke inside an ambulance with a needle in his arm. I was with him prior to this and did not know where he was until I got a phone call 4 hours later . Luckly he was alright but was a pretty scary.
Aside from those occasions it seems that I can not find bad things that it does to your body.
Everything negative I read seems to come from the same angle I once had aswell. Nothing good about it just BAD BAD BAD This is what I thought before i did my research. Now I think that it is safe when used by a resposible person is a resposible manner. It seems as though there is none of the physical side effects associated with almost every other drug out there.
So this is why I ask what is bad about it ?

And thats what I was getting at, I much prefer pills to GHB, but average dose for average dose, GHB is way less harmful.
GHB is generally far purer than pills (you never know what you getting in a pill) and if used responsibly, it's prolly no more damaging than alcohol.
Sure more people have f*cked out on GHB than on pills, buts that because there isnt an awful lot of knowledge about GHB, and it has, as previously stated, a sharp dose-response curve.

Now I'm not singing GHB's praises, just answering the question which was asked, and it is minimal.

one of my close friends OD'd from G... trust me, it wasn't a pretty sight, and if the ambulance wasn't waiting in front of the club, he would have died

I agree with Kr00t0n. I am pretty confident GHB was originally used for people who had trouble sleeping, and other uses were promoted the building of body mass. However, i don't have any sources on this right now. i remember researching it on the net and in some books at the library in the past. either way and what ever you do: Moderation is the key to any substance....

on another note, do you guys have those huge muscle head at your parties/afterhours? in my experiences most of those people do not take pills, they are taking GHB or liquid G. Taking pills does too much to your bodily functions when high, and they are out of cycle for a few days after. Muscle heads can't have this cause they need their body functioning perfectly in order to get or stay that big. GHB does exactly the opposite of taking pills, you can get high and fit with out screwing up you stomache or your brain. too good to be true.......

I have heard you could buy various forms of legal GHB in GNC and other stores having somethig to do with weight gainers but now i am talking out of my ass......... later

you people are ridiculous..you say that it is ok in moderation...??have you ever even tried this GHB yourselves? the drug is mainly used to make you a freakin zombie...yeah the muscle heads use it but look at them most of them are fucked out of there minds(and no not in a good way!)there big goofy and SLOW. not to mention most of them are 30+and balding!
