the Queen of England

whats are your peoples veiws on her over there in the U.K... she really respected and viewed as an National Treasure or soemthin?

she has an incredible ability to smile and wave. I'll give her that.

she nothing but a figurehead

She has the respect of anyone old, like my Gran, but apart from that shes pretty much just a figurehead. Once she's gone, i'd like to abolish the monarchy. Theres just feck all need for it. It would be harsh to abolish it whilst she's still there, but once she's gone, it shud be gone with to!

Check all the other threads about the monarchy. The fact is they still bring a lot of money into the country through tourism and other means. So they make the country a lot more than they cost it.

So keep them

Still, the royal family is the remain of an unfair political system, and that's why I think it should be disbanded.

I am Canadian and once the queen passes away i think we should break away from the monarch as it severs no purpose in Canada i think.

Lol, wot a load of crap, well we have half the world in our monarchy.

The Queen is a figurehead to our country. She signs every bill and legislature we pass here in Canada. Although she has no final choice what gets signed or not. She has to sign everything that actually makes it to her. But in the end she is the person who signs the document.

I hate the royal family. They've done nothing for me, they do nothing for the UK.

Actually it's the Governor General who ends up signing the document. Although she is doing it with the Queen's authority.

unfortunately to hit that you'd have to be a family member --like a cousin or something.

I think they actually both sign the document if I remember my Candadian History class from High School.

the monarchy is a symbol of wot is wrong with society today, although there is no way they could be removed as it stands. I think this queen will be the last monarch anyone has any respect for, after that it will go into a long sprial of decline before we are graced with their demise

I tend to agree. Nobody has any respect for prince Charles, and if he gets to become a king, it's gonna be the British version of George Bush.

all i have to say about the british royalty is that gabriella windsor goes to my school, and she's both very nice and moderately hot.
