How has Tranceaddict.com changed your raving/clubing experience?
How has Tranceaddict.com changed your raving/clubing experience?
I'm doing a little essay on online forums, so I'd appreciate it if everyone participated.
This question is open for anyone to answer.
How was your partying experience before you became a tranceaddict, and how has it changed since you became an active member?
For those of you who have been in the scene for quite a while, specifically before tranceaddict was created; you may want to explain/compare your clubing/raving experience before and after the introduction of tranceaddict, and explain whether or not it changed in any way
Thanks
You already know this but i will tell you anyways
Before tranceaddict we used to go to many all ages parties like ascention etc etc because my friends brother was underage... now they don't come down as much and my other friends stopped going so we head out to only the good parties e.g. @ Viva (which we found out through here) After being on this forum Ive met a lot of nice ppl and its more enjoyable going to the parties now. And there are still more ppl I would like to meet. I guess my experience changed for the better... just wish my gf's would come again
What isn't good about being a TA?
To be honest, I'm not a veteran at this, so I don't have years and years of experience of which I can comment on. I can say a few things, however. (Note: I'll simply use "partying" as opposed to using "clubbing" or "raving", just 'cause. Oh, and don't mind me if I switch back and forth from 1st to 3rd person. It's still early...)
Simply put, partying before being an active tranceaddict.com member just wasn't nearly as fun as partying is now. Before being a TA, you'd attend parties with whatever other friends, have some fun and whatnot, then go home. Not a whole lot would be said afterwards, and you're lucky if you had a friend that could ID tracks as well as some of you on here can.
As is often said, the TA group always creates an amazing vibe at parties. I've found that this vibe seems to increase at a rate equivalent to that of the increase in the number of TA's present. Partying with TA's as a an active member yourself and having a good time just go hand in hand. Even if the party isn't all that great, you're still bound to enjoy yourself with the massive. A huge portion of the fun that is had can be owed to those with whom you had fun.
A great thing about being a TA is that you've always got a bunch of people who are excited before, during, and after these parties. The party, roll call and review threads - they're all there.
Also, obviously so, these are people with whom you can easily relate to through a common love for trance music and even other genres as well. Not only do they have great love for and knowledge about the music, but they are also always willing to share these two with those who are new to the scene and want to know more.
I've met so many awesome people after having become a member on this forum and it's made partying so much more fun. It's an open and friendly group with many amicable and outgoing people. There is no need to be shy around them, but if you are, there's always someone there to introduce you to the other members. TA's are also really helpful. If you're having trouble with something like getting to a party or acquiring music, someone's always willing to help. I myself owe many thanks for such things and more.
Anyhow... I don't want to get repetative, so I'll leave it at that for now. Hope that's done some good, DJLocoMoco.

I would actually say that lurking here for over a year changed my party experience more than beginning to post did.
lurking/posting:
1) made going out more about the music and less about the party
2) made me more more aware of the events, so I took a planning role (along w/ my best girl)within our crew
3)icreased the amount of time I think about upcoming parties and electronic music in general
posting:
posting has changed my experince in the following ways (I've only been out 3 times since I actually started posting regularly)
1) doubling the amount of ppl i talk to in a night- talking to more ppl outside of my crew
2) getting recognized by strangers
oh the list can go on and on.....loco,oco..i think we should discuss this over some beers at oakham with the rest of my TA posse...what do u think???
oh and btw...u gotta come for the boat cruise....ur program is included

No
but I've met a lot of cool ppl that I always run into in clubs that are on here. Also I realize there are many other tranceaddicted toronto ppl besides me.
I would have to say, without you guys/gals, it just wouldn't be the same.
I've been to see a DJ where I didn't know a soul and I was bored, bored, bored and actually felt...self-conscious?
I couldn't dance, move, drink like I normally would because I always felt like everyone knew I was there alone like some geek and I actually froze!
At least with you all I can be more myself knowing I'm with people of like mind and go crazy because..... we all are!!
And since not one of my 'real' friends actually come with me, it's nice to have you all.
A big hug for you all!!

Well I did start partying before TA, just not quite as much...
(possibly the same, I can't remember, been to too many). The TA experience at parties is just UNBELIEVABLE because whenever the TA vibe is present it just makes that party night all the better. Thank you, you know who you are!
I now plan my nights out around which DJs are coming to town, instead of which rave is going to be happening.
This has been an improvement, because I appreciate the solid fundamentals of the other amenities (sp?) needed at a party. Cleaner bathrooms, knowing that the party won't be shut down early, longer DJ sets from the ones you came to see, better lineup control, older crowd.
Ya I'm with Wurm.
Although I partied probably the same ammount through my life as a TA. Met a couple of ya's, but find myself at more progressive parties now than Trance. I can also appreciate the different tastes in music that people have on here and take each one into consideration. I don't always agree with everyones opinion but then again how fun would it be if I did???
Tranceaddict is a good time killer at work, and usually there are some good reads and funny posts.
Especially from that DJ El Kay Dee dude
