Lost it all, again!!! FFS
yet again my i have lost all my files and music etc.. this time it wasnt my fault
came home last night and my screen was blank with the little flashing thing in the top left hand of the screen, tried resetting numerous times but it wouldnt boot, every now and then it would boot but u would only be able to use windows for a little while before it hung, but it wasnt the OS it was like the computer couldnt find the things to run once you gave it a command!
anyway this arvo it got worse and when you tried to boot it gives you "Boot disck failure" etc....
so yeah i lost all my music and eveything!!
damn computers!
Your computer might have AIDs, do you have Norton Anti-Virus, or your PC has too many porn. J/K
Uhh if i were you i would get the newest windows and use the System Restore feature. But other than that you should get a new Mother Board.
We can all still burn songs for you.
man, that sucks. i really feel for you
mm. try removing the hard disk, and using it as slave on another comp, just to see whether there is still anything left on it? to see whether its readable?.. or mmm. better yet, have ya tried using a boot disk?
ouch man
roll around a bit
you'll be alright
Dood BACKUP is imperative.. i went to TAFE, even they taught me that...
that does indeed suck nuts
what brand of hard-drive was it? IBM Deathstar? Or a Seagate Barracuda?
dude I'm pretty sure you could save it.
Get a computer techy friend to transfer your HD into another PC, boot up on that pc using the existing HD and have your HD as the secondary drive and you can probably access it.

Wax complain to fushitsu see what they say. They made some dodgy hard drives a while back which had a huge failure rate. Might be able to get a replacement or something...

yeah but if you can get a new hard drive out of them then that might make you feel better.
and maybe if you argue enough you could get them to fork out for some data recovery guy *shrug*
Dude correct me if i'm wrong but hasn't this happened to you before??
If ur going to 5am at the Room any time or to PvD i'd be willing to burn u a few mp3 cds.
I really feel for you. After losing a 30gb "deathstar" (which fortunately only contained my OS), I decided to do the smart thing and spend $240 on a Thermaltake Xaser II 5000 case. The best investment I've made. This thing's as quiet as anything, has a temperature monitoring device, CPU fan control and 5 case fans. Now my HDDs run at room temperature, whereas they used to be so hot that you could fry an egg on them.

Mmmmm, steel cases are hella cool (mine didn't come with the side panel though)
Mmmmmm, did anyone mention 5 case fans?
BTW, this is my first post in *ages*
