Just bought In My Memory... ffs !
Right, so I'm pretty annoyed right now.
I just paid 27 euros for double-disc version of Tisto's "In My Memory".
Well, guess what?
The first disc is defective, ffs!!!
I've tried it on 4 different players - it doesn't work on my portable cd player OR my regular CD player. However it does work in my dad's CD player and my PC's CD-rom... but since I mostly listen to CD's with the portable one this disc is as good as a beer coaster for me.
The labels whine about mp3s ruining the industry and at the same time they sell fucking overpriced discs that don't even work!!
Assholes, the lot of them.
go back to the store and demand a replacement cd.
Bah, I'll get a refund.
Keep your poxy cd's, damnit - I'll listen to the mp3.

All right, so I'm going a bit over the top... don't you ever do that when you're angry?
The problem here is that I'm not particularily sure who's fault it is. It isn't exactly the shop's fault since they only sell the discs and I doubt Black Hole actually presses the records themselves either.
I am also quite unsure what the hell I should do since like I said it was indeed the only copy of the album that I could find... sure, I can find the regular version of it but not the double-disc one.
I've had similar problems with a few CDs too in the past. I do go over-the-line angry but i never post my feelings here (usually), i just try to do something to clear out the problem. Luckily i got them sorted and CDs to function properly..
That's strange - this is the first time ever it's happened to me and I've never heard it happen before.
I'd understand if the disc was copy protected (my portable CD player won't play them) but it doesn't seem to be...

The 1st issue was with Trance Allstars - Worldwide, the 1st CD cut off during the last track after about 2 mins when 7:06 was the full length. All the releases around seemed to have the same problem. First i contacted with the shop, then they contacted the import conpany and so on.. finally after about a month i got a fully working version of the album. Dunno what was the thing with album anyway, bad pressing or what..
the 2nd issue was much more simple and not quite like the problem u have. I bought a maxi cd, which was suppose to have 8 mixes of the track but had only 3.. all the 8 mixes were printed on the inlay and also on the cd. But anyway, CD had only 3 mixes, so back to the shop again.. there was just a mislabeling of the cds, so i got a correct cdm quite soon.
hey man i feel for you ;(
i have no idea how expensive 27 euros is but if it was expensive i'd be pissed off too

umm..my only thot-
if it works in a PC cdrom can you rip the tracks to either mp3 or wav and then reburn them onto another cd? that cd would then be readable in most players and when you scratch it you wont shit yourself for spending 27 bucks and fucking that shit up...|
return it to the shop and buy a new one here
it's cheaper even with the postage!
Wats the big deal.. its defective... so what..take it back.. they will give you a refund.. if they don't THEN POST ABOUT IT! LMFAO

| Originally posted by Mr.Mystery Dude, if I spend 27 on a disc then surely I'll expect it to work. Sure, I could copy it to my HD, burn it to my disc and then go and get a full refund, but I won't because I'm not a bastard. |
i bought a dave seaman renaissance desire double-cd, and the first cd is missing one tune, and the other cd is missing two. it's not like they're cut off or anything, they're just not mixed in at all. trust the tracklist, heh?
just take it back. Simple.
Yeah, simple.
I took it back and got a replacement.
It didn't work either.
Then the salesman told me he could swap the 1st cd to the cd from the regular version - it worked.
BUT: He checked the cd's and the original version was 1,5 mins shorter than the special edition (although the playlist was exactly the same) so he couldn't change it.
For some reason he couldn't give me a refund either but he said I could pick anything from the store at the price of the disc... so I got Magik 7 and Fatboy Slim @ Brighton Beach instead.
