....did you notice...about this section, that 95% of the peeps are...

total tree hugging, anti-war, protesting, environmentalist, domocrat/green, activist LIBERALS....

and seems to me that those are the only people that ALWAYS bitch and complain about things.....yet they dont themselves know what or why they stand for...

i mean, this section is DOMINATED by peeps who constantly bitch about this and that....how sad is that?....

seems like the only people that do make sense dont have time to waste in here replying and trying to prove their valid point. oh well, that's what i'm here for...try to stir some chaos and disagree with u peeps!

but the GOOD thing is, there would be no democracy in the USA if it wasnt for peeps such as yourself speaking out and questioning authority!

so keep at it, but i'm not sure if anybody is listening,...

The survival of the American democracy depends less on the size of its armies than on the capacity of its own individual citizens to rely, if only momentarily, on the strength of their own though.

hey my favorite nemesis

my question to you is this. if most of the people here seems to think one way, have you ever stopped to think that they might be right?

anyway, who knows who is right, i am just glad you mentioned this:

but the GOOD thing is, there would be no democracy in the USA if it wasnt for peeps such as yourself speaking out and questioning authority!

I think it was jefferson that said: "I may not agree with what you say, but i will defend your right to say it"

As a committed progressive I stand for:
the elimination of racism
the elimination of patriarchy
the elimination of a colonialist foreign policy
preserving our environment
open and transparent forms of government and governance
economic parity
de-privatizating the means of knowledge and labor production

my specific political goals include:
tort reform
full public financing of elections
a switch to natural, alternative fuel sources
gun control
progressive taxation
a single-payer health care system (much like Canada's)

Tree hugging, nope havent yet.

Anti-War?, nope, dont care, american government is not my problem if it doesnt involve me

Protesting? nope dont do that either, protesting is useless and i dont understand why people do it, do they really think they are changing the minds of the decision makers? hell no, protesters are probably just bored. Even if they are strongly against an issue, their petty protesting doesnt do squat

Environmentalist? no not that either. I try to minimize what i throw out and use. I also recycle cans and scrap paper. Does that make me an environmentalist? i dont think i would call myself one, but if my above statement qualifies, sure call me an environmentalist

Domocrat/green... a wha?

Active Liberal? no im almost dead center on the political/economical map

...btw i hope people stop protesting it doesnt fate.

Hehe, well if we didn't bitch and complain all the time, there'd be no political debate forum, and probably no politics at all. Besides, we all must vent somewhere. But anyway, I don't think 95% of people here are leftists, I'd say it's more like 50%.

because he doesn't like that he needs to pay more $$ for gas for his 15 gallon/ mile SUV.

throw them all in a pot, done. no need to think, simple.

and what is wrong with being liberal. Are you not happy that you can do a lot of things that you are able to do in the US? Doesn't YOUR war intend to bring those liberties to the Iraqi people?

you really think so? i don't think i was bitching and moaning at all! in fact, i think i was just making a statement, mainly stating my opinions. i wasn't bitching OR complaining!

i do back up my points sometimes. many statements made by the left folk are not backed up though, and those are the posts that NEED backing up cos usually they attack one thing or another with just opinions, and what seems to me, false biased info. then again you could say that of me,...

BUT at least i do evaluate both sides before i make a decision, and make my decision on evaluation of costs/benefits,....

thanx for proving my point that the LIBERALS always go to the extremes.

if it cant be one thing, it has to be another. no compromise what so ever.

SADDAM = KABOOM

Posted by Konijn on Mar-21-2003 21:29:

Today's polls indicate that 76% of Americans now support the war--less than a week ago that number was 49%.

Considering the absence of any new evidence implicating Saddam, I wonder what accounts for the drastic change: is it that people have simply bought into the authoritarian directives proclaiming that "the time for debate is over and we must now support the war no matter what?;" is it that concern for US troops has subsumed any qualms about the efficacy and legality of the war?; or is it simply that people are bandwagon jumpers, who mindlessly switch allegiances when shit hits the fan?

Any thoughts?

since you are 'anti-american' if you don't support the war, you need to support it. Because you don't want to backstab our poor troops (I love it when people use that as an agrument, why one needs to support the war).

anyway, i think:
1. Bandwagon
2. Propaganda
3. "this story is getting old, i want to see some action, or i will change the channel"

Maybe the launching of scud missiles (and I'm not talking al saouud) which he wasn't supposed to have?

The scuds he launched were in such bad shape they amounted to souped-up roman candles--you think that four of these were enough to change the minds of 30% of Americans?

Not a bad proposal--I tend to describe myself as a libertarian-socialist/syndicalist
