petrol.

Right, we were told that saudi arabia was going to ensure a normal supply of oil for petrol companies, hence supply would be be at it's usual level, hence there is no need for a rise in price.

So why is it then when I went to fill up my car today diesel is up to 80.9 p per litre, up 5 p from the last time I filled it up.

We are getting conned here people.

We were ensured the war on iraq would not cos a rise in petrol prices, because as mentioned prviously saudi arabia would cover us.

Petrol companies have used the war to make anything they can from the paying customer and it's disgusting.

Boycott the two main petrol suppliers BP and Esso or whoever,

This will force them to reduce their prices.

If they reduce their prices then so does everybody else.

Where I live, gas prices have actually gone down (at least at the pumps that I've seen).

I would hold any judgements just yet. This is wartime, you can expect to have lots of things fluctuating, not just gas prices but, say, public opinion and foreign relations etc. Wait for a bit and then see if the prices start escalating.

You forget something

This petrol we're buying now was bought by the companies before the war began, it's a total con, and as much as you wanna boycott the 'big' names, the problem arises when they don't budge, knowing u need to fill up again sometime so will end up there when no1 else has any left

Somebody sent me a silly forward protesting middle eastern oil or something like that but if you want stats on what companies buy from the middle east and which ones don't, here it is:
