I was just listning to his Buenos Aires set on the way home from Iowa State (ISU -> Chicago = 6 hours). I filled it all with trance, yay. I almost cried when he droped some of the old stormer tunes.

Someone needs to invite Oakie onto these boards, so he can see that nearly everyone wants the pre-Bunkka Oakie back.

Posted by torontotrance on Mar-23-2003 03:57:

space, ibiza was the best

az will argue creamfields

Posted by udham on Mar-23-2003 04:44:

oakie's space ibiza set owns ... the one from china very nice as well!

Posted by montie on Mar-23-2003 04:51:

space in ibiza is definatly one of my favorite sets of all time.
i wish oakie would be who he used to be.
oh well, sasha is my number one true love and he has never done me wrong yet.

gatecrasher, lotherton hall > ibiza IMO
(although space is a damn good set)

It kinda bothers me when people are quick to jump on Oakie's back for 'selling out' when he basically did just the opposite. He knew he had trance for the taking, yet he wanted to go back to his musical hip hop roots with an album like bunkka. Gotta respect him for that.
(BTW I dont like Bunkka at all either, I just think it took guts for him to make it)

NYE @ Sydney.. opera house... mmmmmmmmm...

Buffy was there 2... lol

Back on topic, his set from Havana is definitely my fav... ah the good old days.

(and 98' too)

Gatecrasher @ Lotherton Hall, definitely. Not only best Oakenfold mix of all time, but best Essential Mix of all time. Possibly best set of all time.

Creamfields, '99.

That set made me love trance.

Posted by VaNFeCto on Mar-23-2003 18:51:

This to me was the best stretch of djing in the world done by anyone. I dont even think Oakie can recreate what he did, but i would like to see him try at least. My favorite as it is many peoples is the Space set from Ibiza. I love that set man i will never delete so help me god.
