Unhappy Pictures of dead American soldiers and POW

These TV captures of AL-Jazeera are awful. It shows what war is really like.

Hope it will all be over soon!

there were several other pictures of such incidents in my local newspaper today.

"Dr. Habib Al-Hezai counted 101 patients wounded in the raids and now staying in his hospital. Eighty-five of them are civilians including 20 women and six children and 16 soldiers"

I hope this is not the real ratio of soldier:civilian casualities in the whole war..

On the contrary!

Everyone, especially the supporters of the war, should be looking at these pictures every day to see the real results of what is happening here. Seeing pictures of smoking palaces at night on CNN is nothing.

And to tell you the truth, the pictures aren't even that bad. You should see some of the more gruesome images of war... decapitations, limbs missing, crushed body parts, scorched body parts, etc. etc.!

Why run away? This is reality. You should face it.

Agreed.

Many media outlets like to sugarcoat what war is really like - it is one thing to hear about the # of casualties - it is another to see the gruesome images related to that number.

It's ironic that some people seek to censor the true images of violence but seem to shrug their shoulders when anything else around them (entertainment industry/games) thrives on its appeal.

My obvious $0.02.

sure sure buddy, grow up! this is war!

I love it how the US medias aren't showing any of these to their people with an excuse that the geneva convention doesn't allow it. Does the Geneva convention applies to dead bodies? I remember seeing more than once videos of iraqi soldiers surrendering (becoming POW in the process)... isn't that illegal too? or is it just a propaganda tool used by the US to demoralize iraqis troop that now is turned against themselves?

Also, since when the US follows international law? man they're so hypocrite.

Also, on the first day of war, american officials reported that the iraqi soldiers captured won't be treated as POW (following the Geneva convention) but treated like criminal like the afghanis held in Cuba.

Anyways, this isn't a walk in the park, double digit casualities in the coallition forces, POWs, accidental plane shot down, all this on the 4th day on this long war.

Speaking about the Geneva convention, if you read it you do realize how many articles the U.S. have already broken and trying to accuse iraqis of one article that they also broke when they started showing the iraqi soldiers being searched and inspected (going down to ground, etc...).
Ofcourse Iraq has already broken this article back in 1991, and many more, to come to U.S. trying to accuse others of atrocities when they have already done it in their own "media version".

Geneva Convention does not allow the release of videos/images of POW's being interrogated... You should do some research before you post questions that all ready have answers.

Anyways, all media is propaganda of some sort. Do you think Iraq is releasing images of wounded/dead Iraqi soldiers? I think not.

I kinda have to agree with here on this one. As much as I support this war, I still wish we had the backing of the international community.... I just hope this ends soon.

geneva convention ? let america respect it first in guantanamo , then the others will respect it too

not to mention that the UN now is the most ridiculous place for human rights, it's lost its credibility and legitimacy.

Well, it certainly isn't pleasant, but it's not really any worse than thousands of people dying in hospitals around the world with any number of diseases, but I don't hear many people crying for them. I guess it suits the moral masturbation of some people more to lament death when it facilitates their finger-pointing instincts.

Anyway, just to be contrary:
