Talking Things to do in Melbourne??

I'm coming to Melbourne March 28 - April 6th, my first time ever in Aussie.

Really looking forward to it, I hear Melbourne rocks.

I'm DJing at Glow Bar on April 3rd and (to be confirmed) Two Floors Up on April 4th. (They'll be be house and prog house/trance sets as that's all i've been able to get so far. A trance set another time maybe...)

Also heading to PVD on the 29th.

Anything else you can recommend? Doesn't haveta be dance music related (although I wanna know where the good record shops are ;-)

so im told its 3 weekly, and then i found out it was monthly... does anyone here know for sure???

Posted by Renegade on Mar-25-2003 14:52:

Room has a prog night every Saturday, but it's notoriously difficult to get into. And I'm pretty sure that there's always something on there on Fridays as well if you want to club without having your ears poisoned by r'n'b, house or Nu NRG.

But if Nu NRG is your thing, then there's a million places. Zos, Bubble, Hard Kandy etc.... I also reccomend Casey's on a Tuesday night if you have a thing for young, drunk chicks and absolutely shite music.

Nah rOOm on a Saturday isnt that hard to get into....if u like prog then U may like.
Umm women and music? Se7en, Honkey Tonks, Prince Of wales.
Music? 5am@rOOm 4th and 25th of April
Women? Loft, Amber Lounge or some crap

Oh did I mention Women?

Posted by helix on Mar-25-2003 22:40:

well, i dunno what my girlfriend would think about all the "women"

;-)

thanks for all the info, it's really helpful, keep it coming.

For things not dance related.
head down to chapel street,it has the best clothing stores and is great just to walk around, lots of clubs and bars around there as well. If you want the cafe vibe go to st kilda. acland street has the most unreal coffee bars with great atmosphere.
Melbourne city itself is also a great way to spend the day.

Apart from PVD and Oakenfold, 5am at r00m on the 4th april will be the best night on while you're here. It's located at 680 Glenferrie rd, Glenferrie (Eastern Suburbs). It opens at 10pm, starts kickin 12/1ish.

PM me and I'll put you and your girl on the guestlist.

Also we'll be front and centre for pvd, look for a guy with a green sleeveless with a big red cross on it.
