BPM Dance is qutting....
Just like Bonzai , its time for the dutch label to quit.
For those who don't know this label is katana own label.
They got broke also...just like LR its about mp3s mostly.
Ok if there wasn't mp3s a lot of pplz wouldn't know artist...BUT whats the point being known by getting broke, because there's not meny people that really buy.
I think labels should move to cds releases , I'd buy it !!! cuz I vinyls aren't helping me much...
Anyway take care,
/mosh
/me shakes his head
Are u serious?!?
isn't BPM Dance the owner of Only-Djs?
or something like that at least
i remember when i was in the netharlands i visited only djs and by mistake i entered BPM.. and they told me its the store next door...
i hope only-djs wont be shotting down as well..
sad news for the trance fans... i wonder.. what next?
thats a real shame
yeh only-djs.com is owned by Katana - don't think they'll go broke online record shops definately pull in the $$$
WTF is going on here....It cant be Mp3..they are the only reason I have as much vinyl as I do.

BPM is actually quitting but not because they got bankrupt as Lightning did. They wanted to focus more on only-djs so...
this industry isnt doing good

They are indeed quitting, but as said before, to concentrate on only-dj's, this was known for a few weeks
Damn dude I mean how can we help? I mean is it that more people need to buy stuff or what i mean, I myself i get MP3's myself but i also buy vinyls. I own several Katana records as a matter of fact. I do think maybe they do need to go to cd release. Katana's one of my favortie artist, does this mean hes not goin to produce nemore? Also i mean is owning your own record company the only option to getting your music out? Is it possible for some of these small guys to just join big companies, I mean i know its their dream to own their own company but whats so good about it if everyone is goin broke?
Vito I talked to dj danjo and rob styles who are friends of katana and releasing tracks on his label and they told me that thier track "Aragon" won't be released yet because they are looking for a new label beacuse BPM dance is quitting...
Danjo told me that even so peoples know him much more because of the mp3s doesn't give him nothing because he's broke , I don't remeber excalty how he told me it but that's what he told me - katana still doesn't know what he's gonna do.
So this is the real source.

tranc epeople make hardly any money from cd singles unless its club trance i imagine.
wow, i sure hope they arent quitting Only-djs...thats 1 of the best record sites i've been to! i bought alot of records cause of mp3s... i doubt they r shutting down cause of that
i add nick warren's comments from gu024
i think he has a valid pt....and coming from a big A list dj, he carries more weight
Nick Warren - From Sleevenotes of GU024
Nick Warren is unfazed by UK dance music's current, much-talked-about slump. "I think it's fantastic that people are panicking about the business and all the doom and gloom. All the big fish who have made money for years and years, all the big club promoters who milked it without putting that much back into it, have had their comeuppance," he says. "You can't sit on your heels and expect the same people to be going out for more than ten years. It never happens in music."

| well.. hard to say, but it seems that the vinyl market is not what is was anymore... sales were dissappointing and costs became too high |
isnt' Signum on BPM Dance?
yeah as well as katana & precision
BPM Dance didn't quit because they were bankrupt, like stated above. They only quit with the recordlabel because they wanna focus more on Only-DJs.com.
They didn't make any loss with BPM Dance, but it was neither something they earned alot with. So to save all the trouble, and focus on OD, they quitted.
And about the artist: Signum found a new label, Mark Norman found a new label, DJ Precision is starting his own label (Somatic Sense) and Katana doesn't know what to do yet, but I guess you'll hear from him too in the future
So the music won't stop!
Its a shame that these record companies are closing but they cant blame it on mp3z as without mp3z we wouldnt know what the tune sounded like in order to see if its worth buying.
The mp3 excuse is not right as in my oppinion it actually increases sales on the toons!!

WTF, selling Cd singles would make things worse, whos gonna buy a cd when you can just download the track and burn it yourself?
People buy vinyl for the beauty of mixing with it.
