Anything big going on this summer in Norway, Sweeden or Denmark
I was wondering if there are any big events this summer. I am going to Norway for three months this sumer to visit relatives, and was wondering if there are any big trance events. The last time I was in Norway, they had the Hyperstate. Is that every year??? And is it any good?? Thanks for the help.
Hi... and welcome to our bautiful Scandinavia
ha ha
I dont think they have Hyperstate anymore... was a couple a years since las tone... but we have a few Norwegian TAs in here so they might be able to answer that question...
You should go over to Sweden now cause theres finaly happening goodthings in the rock country... the Trance scen is gowing alot thanks to the party arranger Fokused

yoy
you got the summerparade the 26th of july + you will always have smaller parties @ clubs around oslo every week + weekdays in the summer
but if you want trance, you'll only find psytranceparties
but they rock even more than the tranceparties, so it doesnt matter

is it true that it is more house in scandinavia than trance, or is trance starting to get more popular??
Trance is virtually dead in Norway (apart from a few scattered events here and there),and house rules the nightlife in Oslo and other big cities. In Sweden things are starting to pick up a bit(just surf a little on this forum, you'll find lots events).Denmark has Club Gorgeous, other than that I don't know much.Finland has a lot of quality trance producers, but not too sure about whether this has affected the clubs or not.

| Originally posted by verminator the majority of houseppl in oslo know what real trance is, as most of them are 20+ and have been through their period of trance of course the impression they get of today's trance is as you say, but they know that there were a good trance back in the old days, when they were young too, but for now, 95% of that is gone, and replaced with crappy cheezy trance |

long live underground
Trance is not mainstream or cheese... It can be but thats only if you listen to CJ Sones sets...

maybe trance lost its linfluence with rap and hip hop coming to Europe and making a huge impact over the last 5 yrs or so??

Like you all say Trance got a bad reputation among clubbing people. Its house and its likes that is hot now adays.
But i would say that trance got its bad reputation for not being what it once was. Sure Alice Deejay has given the music a bad name amog people but also producers like Ferry Corsten and DJ Tiesto. The Trance people over here is or at least was used to was much more psycadelic influenced, and not like this pussy soft trance we have today with producers just like Ferry Corsten.
This is just what I got a feeling of anyway. Im too young too experiance this myself. Feel free to correct me if you believe me to be wrong.
My personal opinion is that acts like Alice Deejay (hey, Gielen (and Svenson) played a part in that act, don't talk badly about it
) and Ian van Dahl is nothing more than eurodance and mistaken for trance by some people.

Anyways-->
You should wait until the summerparade is taking place in Oslo (I'm not quite sure exactly when but I bet it ain't hard to look up if you try
) I think it's the last week of July.
Anyways there should be enough partypeople and decent music for everybody by then, but if you really badly want to hear some good trance, meet nice people and see some decent DJs you should watch for the [trance.nu summer boat]. That'll be great, I'm definately going this year if nothing unexpected happens.
