Alec Empire ?
who is this guy? someone at trance.nu said that Tiesto stole the melody for his Lethal Industry track from him. Interesting. I would like to know more.
Alec is in the group Atari Teenage Riot along with a couple others. One of the members, Carl Crack, died recently. I dont know if they still produce or if he produces under his own name. I have one of their cd's and one of Alec's own. Probably best described as hardcore. Not all that great IMO though. Angry music.
Hope that helps yer search for the truth.
the label he releases on is digital hardcore.... its mainly breakcore and gabba, proper mental fucked up shit, but great in its own right, you must be a avid fan to appreciate the stuff tho.
i have a digital hardcore album on vinyl, and it ranges from like guitarry breaky stuff, like atari teenage riot to baaaaadass jungle, to electro to dirty breakz..... werth a check out just to experiance it
Alec Empire is a genius, in my opinion
Most of his music is quite noisy, that's true, but the way he blends elements from hardcore, jungle, breakbeat and rock is just amazing. Here's a list of my favourite tunes from Atari Teenage Riot:
ATR - Atari Teenage Riot
ATR - Delete yourself
ATR - Speed
ATR - P.R.E.S.S.
... and if you like this stuff but you still think it's too noisy, check Junkie XL's "Saturday Teenage Kick" or even "Billy Club"... it's some sort of lighter version
ps.: Since we're talking about ATR, I need to say something: THAT SINGER IS GORGEOUS!!!! (or at least, she looks fine in most videos and pics

I love Atari Teenage Riot, the energy from their tracks is really good for venting aggression.DHR just released a cd with lots of ATR b-sides,rarities and live recordings, called "Redefine The Enemy".If you feel like experimenting a little, check it out.Be prepared for a massive sonic onslaught, tho,as ATR are probably the loudest band I've heard in my life so far.My fav is probably Start The Riot or Destroy 2000 Years Of Culture, which is indeed some mental breakcore/gabba madness. They have made other stuff too though, check out Sex for some proper weird acid madness, or Paranoid (7" Remix),which would fit well into any darkstep/techstep set.
