What do you think of Ferry Corsten Productions lately?

I think Ferry Corsten isnt doing to hot...ever since ligaya i was kinda dissapointed with his work and remixes. i didnt like that new subsola remix he did cause it was to amaturish sounding and weak...and his new single "indigo" is very repetitive and boring. anyways, what do you think about his productions? i just cant see why he is so popular still.

I don't think Indigo is boring. Besides a trance song being repetative shocks you? How is that? I saw him a few weeks ago and was blown away compared to the time I saw him before that, a dj that suprises me like that has to be good. He dropped breaks, harder stuff, plus his usual style. It was great.

to me, indigo only has one synth loop that goes over and over. i dunno i just dont like it. i know his mixing is great but im mainly talking about his productions

4x4 - indigo, everyone said that was a good tune, personally i thought it sucked

Posted by jc on Mar-29-2003 04:26:

ferry is definately not what he used to be - and neither is uplifting trance

indigo however is something awsome!

Posted by fastmp3 on Mar-29-2003 04:27:

you guys should die for saying indigo sucks

i never understand why Tiesto left Gouryella. Can anyone explain to me?

Posted by djSlain on Mar-29-2003 04:39:

i believe they were just too busy to fit it in their hectic schedule

Posted by Micheline on Mar-29-2003 04:55:

i heard that they had argument on who is producing more of the stuff. I guess the mastermind behind the project was Ferry and he showed with Ligaya.
Tiesto is a phony producer thats what i will say.

Posted by Photo_bot_2k1 on Mar-29-2003 05:02:

i commend ferry for trying out different things
ferry corsten - punk
and
ferry corsten - indigo
are perfect examples of experimenting with some differnt styles other than ultra melodoic trance

i personally think he suceeded with those 2

system f - together tho.... i dunno im confused by that whole album

Fucking amatuer...imagine how much better Ligaya would have sounded with tiesto. Listen to the other Gouryella and tell me which sound better.

Please think before opening you motherfucking mouth.

I agree, in that the quality of Ferry's productions have disintergrated, on the other hand he hasn't come out with that many new productions !

Posted by Micheline on Mar-29-2003 10:15:

i am sorry if i said anything about your favorite dj Tiesto. I just think he is not a good producer. I mean you cant be great dj and producer?

Besides, this thread isn't about Tiesto...

Tiesto did the remix of "Southern sun" for Oakenfold and he really liked the track. Now he thinks of making something similar. I dont know what was the reason why he didnt do it, but he tell his good friend Cor Fijneman to do something similar to this song and he may get the popularity he deserves. He said to him "Call some popular singer(Jan Johnston in the situation) and make something simillar. I will remix it and u will get some hit and get into the mainstream".

and how can you say he isnt a good producer/dj?

He sold more of his own artist album then any other trance producer.
his singles are all unique/different and do very well in the charts
every album tracks he made has been released / remixed apart from dallas 4pm. no-one else has an album as diverse and capable as that.
the magik series was by far the most popular series ever.
magik 6 is the second biggest selling mix comp ever to oakenfolds tranceport.
he was voted the number 1 dj in the world, and to get that i think you have to be good at producing aswell.

Agreed - the System F album was kinda naff... but if I remember correctly Ferry said in an interview that his Ferry Corsten album will have more experimentation and not only trance - I'm really looking forward to it.

Posted by Prototrance on Mar-29-2003 13:53:

Ferry = Awesome. All the time. Dont bother flaming, I'll not listen.

4x4 - 'Indigo' sends me insane, amazing tune
Sub Sola - 'So Pure' (Ferry Corsten remix) wicked
Moby - 'In my heart' (Ferry Corsten remix) Also wicked.

END.

Posted by oDrori on Mar-29-2003 14:09:

I'm a Ferry addict, what can I say

I liked the Subsola remix pretty much, I liked the Moby remix a lot, the System F album (Toghether) ... I ahted most tracks, but they were only intended for the Japanese audience, I guess the Tsunami guys knew what they were doing (System F - Toghether is a powerful track though, kind of sounds like Out of the Blue 2003 ), Ligaya was great IMO.

I admit Ferry has had a kind of a downfall in 2002, even in relation to other Uplifting producers, he might get his glory back with the new album, as he promised it would be more inovative -
He proved he can do it with Eon - Pocket Damage and with Ransom - My Dance (Ferry Corsten remix), as well as with Indigo and Punk which will be included.

P.S. I lurve Indigo

I think his remix of Kathy's Song is MINT!!!
One of favs STILL

Posted by undertensecond on Mar-29-2003 16:40:

i think ferry's new album will be a hit!

Posted by SynRG888 on Mar-29-2003 20:40:

Ferry's produced tracks are getting more and more experimental.. ever since I heard needlejuice and that terrible remix that's the last track (soul on soul?) on Global Trancemissions I haven't been sure how I felt about where Ferry was going with his music..

but i saw him over new years and he still spun a set with all that dope ass uplifting melodic trance I love, so as long as he's still spinning dope trance sets, he can do whatever he wants as far as I'm concerned...

Posted by Christopher B on Mar-29-2003 20:51:

As for the Tiesto/Ferry/Gouryella argument, if you listen to Gouryella, Walhalla, and Tenshi, you can tell that Ligaya is definitely missing something.

As for Ferry's productions, I've liked a couple of his recent ones, like Solstice, but most of the new System F stuff is too cheesy for my tastes.

i will have to admit that Tiesto album is one of the best i heard.
But.....he had produced all the tracks with someone else. Usually all of them are produced with great producers.
And i think you have to admit that he is no superman. He is a great dj. Thats why they voted him number 1. He is just not a good producer. Ask any of the big names they will tell you the same. Why is it so hard to understand that? Even i have my favorite artists and i admit if they are not perfect. This my friend i call "fanatic". A guy who is crazy for a artist so much he cant see nothing, but the good from him.
