melodic progressive
I've only heard 2 melodic progressive songs so far and i loved them
what are some other non minimalistic prog songs
some obvious ones james holden - nothing (returning 93 mix/mix2)
Cloud Cuckoo (Luke Chable Remix)
sasha - xpander
sasha - bloodlock
james holden - horizons
natious - amber
actually just listen to gu13 :P
Melodic progressive (what I call progressive trance) is my favorite genre. Completely my preferred style to spin.
Way Out West - Activity
Banco de Gaia - Obsidian (The Light vs. PFN Remix)
BT - Mercury and Solace (Quivver mix)
Anything by Max Graham (especially remixes!), he's the master of this stuff
Cass and Slide - Glad I Ate Her
Chakra - I Am (Digweed & Muir's Bedrock Remix)
Evolution ft. Jayn Hanna - Walking On Fire (Bedrock Vocal remix)
Gus Gus - Purple (Sasha vs The Light Mix)
Bedrock - Life Line
James Holden - I Have Put Out the Light <<< SO underrated
Heck, just about anything by James Holden
Junkie XL - Breezer, Beauty Never Fades, Bon Voyage
Luzon - The Baguio Track OWNS YOU ALL
Odessi - Moments of Space
Orbital - Nothing Left (Breeder remix)
Praha pres. Xian - Pachinko
Paganini Traxx - Zoe (Timo Maas remix)
Scorchio!!!!!!
Just to name some!
Look around some older Sasha and Digweed sets. Progressive of '99 was chock full of this stuff. Like sektile said, GU 013 Ibiza is just one big opus of it.
Sasha - Cloud Cuckoo (Luke Chable Remix) is pure gold.
i didnt know xpander was prog
Orbital feat. David Gray - Illuminate (Charlie May Remix)
Ogenki Clinic - First Light (James Holden Remix)
Sander Kleinenberg - My Lexicon/Buenos Aires
Sasha & Darren Emerson - Scorchio (Original Mix)
Trancesetters - Roaches (Original Mix)
Josh Gabriel - Wave 3 (Charlie May Undertow Mix)
Bedrock - Emerald (Charlie May's Quartzite Cluster Mix)
up
Escape - Salina
Dakota - Swirl
16b feat. Morel - Driving to Heaven
Starecase - Lost 22 (Max Graham Remix)
Underworld-Cups (Salt City Orchestra Mix)
Not sure if this is prog tho, but it came of Digweed's GU014.
As far as melodic goes, this is the most melodic and progressive song I know.
Am I the only one thats heard melodic progressive trance be referred to as pixie trance ? And yes James Holden in my mind is the first person I think of when I think pixie trance.
wtf is pixie trance?
anyway im jamming right now to
leama - requiem for a dream (leama's dream mix)
leama - labyrinth (dj orkidea mix)
leama - melodica (leama's space mix)
adam dived - deep inside (original mix)
I prefer prog tracks that have just a teeny tinge of melody in them; not too much or it'll spoil the fun- and bring out the cheese. But enough to make a lasting impression and make the overall feel of the track good.
Grayarea- One for the Road is a prime example.
