Moby melbourne

Did anyone else go and see Moby and grove terminator on tuesday? What did you think? IT ROCKED in my opinion seriously impressed by GTs set, he really played some nice stuff, and had an MC that i quite liked! WOW! moby was really, really good playing a good mix of his older and newer tunes, i would have liked a little more of his early stuff but it was all damn good! Royal expo building was an amazing venue. What's anyone else think?

I went to this, only cos i had free tickets... No umm... Groove Terminator??? he had some mixing skills, but he played his own stuff which sucked... Every single track he played went to a break beat, one stage he was playing something that had a good driving bass line, then that even broke down 2 a break beat... He done the "Record Spin" a little times 2 many i rekon, was it like 4 times in 45 mins? Anyways its gettin to the end of his set, and he goes "I rekon they can take one more" to the MC Guy, me saying "Nooooooooooooooooooo" but he plays one anyways... and low and behold... "Underworld - Born Slippy" the same start, and he says "Here's one i made earlier" To the crowd. and then it ends up being some crap rip off he made. Anyways Moby comes on and yeah, he rocks, and a comment he makes in between one of the tracks... "On behalf of my country im sorry" or something like that, crowd went nuts when he said that... Overall good venue and MOBY Rocked, sorry bout GT though, wasnt really my style, although others may have enjoyed it... just my opinion...

But wouldnt you go to GT to see his production skills rather than mixing?

GT has never come across to me as a DJ really, more of a producer, and a damn good one at that

Love Song (This is not a)
Kid Dynamite
You Can't See

Damn fine tunes!!!!

And Moby has his moments too

Didn't get to go to it though.

Yeah stipsy!! :-) i really liked GT breaks tunes, but i do kinda agree about the last track, though i kinda liked the vocals, and it was kinda brave. He also said that the record company want's he to say that his new albums out but he doesn't really care if you download it!!! He must be really pissed off at his record company to say that!

Well when a DJ Spins live, u go 2 see his DJing skills, Break beat are sweet to listen to, must admit... he had good scratching skills, but pretty much back spun every track then put next one in. And that thing where he had one hand on mixer and other on the deck or something and bobbing up and down like a monkey???? ahh well, just my point of view...
