Holy shit!!!!! DJ RUSH..................

Oh my god, i have just witnessed a two hour set of complete mayhem here at pressure in scotland. From start to finish he went bezerk, bloddy relentless. He even throws in some of his own singing to the tunes which is fuckin neat.

All in all i'll have to say the most bangin set i've ever heard. hold on........... shit........ my ears bleeding again.

Ive got one of his sets that guy is a sadist.

Posted by chesco on Mar-29-2003 16:50:

I've got many of his sets, they don't come close to seing him in the flesh. The guy is about 6 ft 5, he's fuckin huge. he just plays such relentless bangin tunes you can't describe. When he starts singing, it's fuckin awesome, his scratching was ok, and he even played one more tune at the end, the first time i've seen anybody doing this at the arches. he is truly insane.

The DJ Rush set posted by Swamper a while back was 70 minutes of dark, pounding techno bliss. I'd love to see him live.

there's loads of his sets available on soulseek and win mx. but honestly, i used to think the downloads were bangin, you should see him live. I was trying to sleep on the saturday morning and all i could here was his sick laugh that was sampled in one of his tunes. it was totally awesome. I didn't regain full hearing ability until this morning.

Drunk

i havent seen him live but all his sets ive heard have just seemed to be too hard and non melodical or rhythmatical in any sense, maybe i havcent given them enough time but i prefer djs more like adam beyer which is techno but have more rhythm in them

Posted by chesco on Mar-31-2003 22:17:

It's not really about rythme with dj rush, although he does sometimes play more funky sets, depending on where he is. It's about the most pounding techno you'll ever here.

You would never guess who was there.

None other than LENNY D, who was playing a set at a club called full on the night after. If you remember him he was the king of hardcoe, back in the days of rezerection, and fantasia. (the event 2).

Anyway even he couldn't take it, he left after about 1 and half hours. Pussy.

It's music with a harder edge thats all. When he started singing along to chris liebing's remix of get on up it was quality. (that was a bit different.

i actually thought i was the only one that liked dj rush . . . as well as marco bailey etc. . . . i thought his best tune was DJ Rush - Get on up. I couldve bought this record a while back with the proper remix but didnt so now i cant find it anywhere.

DJ Rush is so sick . . .will blow the roof off any club.

Saw him @ I Love Techno last year, and wasn't too impressed with what I heard, even tho the vocals he did were really cool. The fact remains that Rush plays some of the most simplistic and cheap schranz this world has to offer, with seemingly nothing but a shitload of bass and and lots of hihats like mos man said.(The fact that he killed basses and brought them back about 5-6 times per record @ I Love Techno shows how much variation there is in the music he plays)I might get my head bitten off for saying this, but I think that if it hadn't been for his incredible charisma(like ppl said before me,Isiah is a towering giant) and the unique interaction he has with the crowd,Rush wouldn't have been anywhere near as popular as he is now.

I like his productions tho.Get On Up was class, that goes for his remix of Justin Berkovi - Closer You Come, too. His releases under his other monikers are great too, like Major Rush - Japan Wargames.

Or the droppings of jesus himself

Posted by verminator on Apr-03-2003 17:24:

indeed rox

but as sand leaper says, he plays a bit "cheap" techno, even though there is sooooooooo much energy in it
he knows how to tease the crowd, thats for sure!

Posted by Greedy on Apr-03-2003 18:50:

the music he plays isnt cheap techno, its called Drum Trax . . .tracks consisted of non stop beats and basssssss. . . .I love it.

Those non stop "drum tracks" you're talking about are as far as I know called locked grooves(good examples are Ars Larson - Shot Toolz EP or the LP of Speedy J's album Loudboxer). And the techno Rush played when I saw him did not sound like any of the locked grooves I have ever heard so far.It sounded like hard as fuck-schranz,with bass, beats and pretty much nothing else.I'll agree that it has an immense impact on a loud system, but musically speaking the tunes he played are probably the most simplistic techno tunes I've heard in my life,I've heard locked grooves that sounded less monotonous than some of the things he played. Placing a different name tag on these type of records does not disguise the fact that they are incredibly simplistic and cheap(listen to Square - Unknown Synthetic. You tell me it doesn't sound simple and cheap),and without the help of a big ass sound system(on which they have a huge impact,I'll agree),they would probably bore tha fuck out of many ppl.

*edit:never mind

Haak is right. It was directed to the other reply, as the person who posted it, obviously didn't understand that i used "cheap" just as an expression of the sound Dj Rush plays.

To Busy Child: Drum Trax? = Your own definiton of Glenn Wilson, Lars Klein, The Anxious, Andreas Krmer, Ignition Technician, etc?

He plays regular hard techno, but a more simple "version" of it.

Yep,sorry bout that mate
