Kamikaze attacks

The Americans just lost 4 soldiers due to a Kamikaze attack, for the Israelis/Jews in here "suicide bomber" or "terrorist".

This question is toward you guys, since you advocate that the "suicide bombers" active in Israel are brainwashed by a system that advocate this way to kill "innocent civilians".

How do you explain those "suicide bombers" after only 11 day of war/occupation? They can brainwash people this fast now?

My answer is that this war is becoming an asymetrical one because the Iraqi cannot fight the much superior Americans in the conventional manner. They have to resort to ways that the coallition can't do nothing or almost about. Much like the Japanese in WWII and Palestinians in occupied Palestine.

i wouldnt call those iraqi kamakazies terrorists, i'd call them ignorant but not terrorists. if those same kamakazies start targeting civilians or innocent populations, then yes they dont deserve to be called humans. as long as they can keep to military targets its fair game. to bad those same iraqi's willing to commit suicide for saddam cant see how much better their lives would if saddam himself were to commit suicide.

This is the American/British propaganda that want you to believe that they do it for Saddam which is improbable or better impossible. I'm telling you, no Iraqi loves Saddam but these are nationalistic people who will fight for their country against the occupiers.

Look at south Iraq where the American are stranded because the Chiite muslims are fighing to keep Iraq free. Those are the same people who got repressed by Saddam in the early 90s, isn't it ironic?

Americans forgot that these people are Iraqi first then Chiite muslim.

And about the "innocent civilians" in Israel, might I remind you that every Israeli has to serve in the army, female or male? (Except the Ultra Orthodox Jews). But that's another debate.

Glad I don't live in Israel/palestine.
I didn't know the women had to serve as well as the men...

there are a lot of things you don't know (not because you're ignorant or something) but because they don't want to tell you ...

That would still make me ignorant.

There's nothing wrong with ignorance, as long as you try to rise above it....

Great timing for using sarcasm mate, really mature.
I wouldn't clal him a terrorist (reasons detailed below) but did he not commit suicide via exploding himself using a bomb?

On what are you basing this? Have you any contacts from the Iraqi side?
Of course they could have been brainwashed to it, you don't need false facts to barinwash someone, just onesided facts.

Yes, we have to serve for 3 years (males)or ~2.5 years (females) starting the age of 18 or so. Does that make us soldiers for life? Does it mean only the Ultra Orthodox Jews are all innocent? Innocent to the terrorists?

It is, but since you insist on bringing it here, why stop at that... Ussually the term "Innocent Civillian" doesn't describe a civillian that did not commit crime (against the body who hurt it), but an unarmed/ unprepared person.
Attacking a soldier off-duty is attacking an innocent civillian.

Well if you stopped watching CNN or Fox ( I assume ), you'll hear from diverse western media that there's no uprising in Iraq and Chiite aren't fighting along the US but against. Even the Chiite leader who lives in exile in Iran is saying the same thing, Americans aren't welcome in Iraq! Go figure.

Aren't males in the reserve till the age of 40 or so? Surely in their eyse (Palestinians), they see every civilian as being risponsible of this occupation. I never said Orthodox Jews are innoncent, to the contrary, they live in the colonies for the most and have the most hawkish views.

BULLSHIT!!!

how do you compare this situation to the one in which people strap bombs to themselves, go to a peaceful club, or marketplace or a bus where innocent civilians go about their business, and blow themelves up, killing those civilians?

DO NOT CONFUSE THE ACT OF WAR WITH ACT OF TERRORISM

Well said JM!

Posted by DrUg_Tit0 on Mar-30-2003 12:40:

Exactly what JM said. What Iraqi suicide bombers are doing is much different than what the palestinian ones are doing. The fact that the Israelis are obligated to military service for 3/2.5 years (which is not a secret) doesn't mean they're soldiers all their life. Using that logic, you might say killing Israeli children is ok because one day they'll become soldiers.

quote:
The shocking thing is that Debka claims the number of Iraqi guerillas is 800,000! Even though Debka smells to me like a pro-Israel propaganda website (so you should have a healthy scepticism of everything it publishes), this number is not impossible when you think about it.. Debka explains that very many Baath party members got money as a reward for participating in guerilla training before the American invasion. And when you take into account that a large percentage (about 10% I think) of Iraqis are Baath Party members, it's easy to believe Debka's number of 650,000 Baathists among the 800,000 Iraqi guerillas.

Iraq has about 800 000 reservists. Those are people who have been through regular military training years ago and are civilians until called for by the military.

As soon as talks of war started I felt the americans were taking this war too lightly. Sure, it was easy to kill off the Talibans whose army consisted of 50 000 poorly armed troops and who were hated by the people, but Iraq is a different story. Already there are some american generals saying that this war might last until summer. Imo, that's an optimistic scenario. I must say I'm very suspicious if the US will be able to win this war at all.

This is not true, they are not kamakazis for the following reason:

The Japanese "suicide bombers" were clearly identifiable military targets and person. A plane with Japanese marking is clearly your enemy. Compare that to the low-life Iraqis;

A suicide bomber is a camofluged civilian that abuses the protections granted to him in war time. Their Bombers, are "military vehicles" disguised as "taxis" with a civilian driver apparently. One can not compare the two, so I ask you this, how come it is only the middle east culture that breads such low lifes? How come we do not see such things wide-stream throughout history and across the world?

I refer you to my previous thesis if you do not recall; which percludes that suicide bombing is a islamo-facisit (I just like that word ) trend; http://www.tranceaddict.com/forums/...&threadid=83110

And it is a terrorist act because they abuse their war protections, and cause terror into enemy soldiers which can only be returned upon civilian targets. If he is not a terrorist what is he? We can not call him a military unit as he does not identify himself as such, what is he then?

Agreed with Yoepus.

The Japanese Kamikaze attack was fundamentally based on honor, whereas the Iraqi suicide bombings are fundamentally based on deceit.

It should come as no surprise that Hussein and his ilk would employ such tactics, and is preciesly why he must be removed.

Posted by torontotrance on Mar-30-2003 21:27:

that's wrong and how can they get so many ppl to want to kill themselves to kill others is beyond me. The american soldiers don't have a choice in the matter, they chose to be soldiers for their country and defend it or do what is needed. I think Iraq is resorting to low tactics. Same in the middle east, suicide bombing is wrong and usually just hurts innocent people who have nothing to do with the thing. Going on to a bus and blowing yourself up, that's not progress, that's dirty and sneaky and underhanded. The people have nothing to do with the matter cept they voted in the government but then again, not everyone votes for the same people and who knows if they even voted and almost every country has the freedom of being able to vote in a democratic way. I just think suicide bombings is wrong and if people can't call a truce and say this is enough lives lost and this is pointless and make an agreement to solve the damn problem then innocent people will continue to be killed.

just like I said the obvious outcome is terror, now you got your innocent civilians thrown into the mix to make you "happy" enough to call it terrorism;

Posted by LiquidX on Apr-01-2003 03:11:

-See.. Rumsfeld is surprised that the CHiitas didn't rebell against Saddam, now the cards have turned. As the muslims see more of their civilians die, more hate against Americans as whole, and, even Iraq's past enemies are coming together to defend their muslims beliefs, what we call "the holy war" to them. Meaning that alot more terrorism world wide will arise if this continues, more hate and radicical muslims will arise, which will also affect Israel. See, Bush never saw this coming ...

They are fighting against the enemy, thinking that they are on the holy war, and if they commit suicide fighting against the enemy, they go straight to heaven. That's their belief.

Lol

Anyway, the reason Kamikaze had their obvious markings on the planes was because they were fast moving and therefore hard to hit. Besides, whichever sort of aircraft they used, they'd be recognized as soon as the ships realized they're going right for them and ignoring radio messages. Imagine now an Iraqi suicide bomber going with a normal car covered with Iraqi markings into the american tanks. They'd take him out as soon as it gets in the 5km radius. It's necessary for the Iraqis to be deceitful in this war because otherwise they don't stand a chance.
